From a soldier's perspective, wouldn't it be enough to say, "There is the enemy; go get them!"

Savages or not, stolen uniforms or not, all the soldiers really want to do is execute their orders and go home alive. If that hinges on them having superior firepower (square rounds notwithstanding), then so be it.

Unless you have RoE, like trying to separate the killer savages from the peaceful savages, drawing up on the battle line should be easy to do.

If the enemy is standing in front of me, unless I have a deathwish, I will not call down artillery fire DANGER CLOSE. If they're someplace I can observe and correct, of course an artillery barrage is called for. However, I do (in my own sick way) like to watch what happens when a PIAT or a LAW rocket or something meant to knock down a whole area of troops hits that one unfortunate squaddie square on and detonates.

I didn't think we were getting into full blown warfighting doctrine, but if so, my nation's motto rings true: In Strength Comes Peace. I'll knock 'em all down at a distance before my ground pounders come in to mop up their slimy remains and hoist the colors.

Our national religion (Sacrae Fides) is based on the Graeco-Roman Pantheon, not an Abrahamic Religion. So, Red Cross/Red Star/Red Crescent = Red Eagle.

Squaddie is slang for a British soldier!

Mine's pretty similar, except we go 'In Extreme Prejudice Comes Peace'. Instead of ground-pounders, it's some form of spear-head unit of MBTs and IFVs to level the entire enemy position before the men dismount.

I take it that your "universal symbol" for the medics is that white panel with the red bird?

Mm-hmm. It gets complicated.

In my region there's me. A red sun/moon (Harmonism: MLP religion), red cross, red rose (Imerian - or crescent/cross for Muslim and CHristian regiments), not red caduceus, technically Cel's flames (as he has a mutual assistance pact, unless he wants to nullify it, despite not being in-region), etc. etc.

I had had these sitting in one of my folders for a little over a year now, and only finished them about 2 weeks ago. What do you people think of them, particularly the colors? As I am colorblind, I can never tell if the colors are quite right, and apparently make things look "wonky".

They are really good. I especially love the detail on the hilts.
If I were you though, I would lighten the darker sword up sos it isn't the same colour as the hilt.

Oddly enough, I picked up on the medical logos and then noticed the vehicles are armed. Not a problem in and of itself, but not generally accepted among the medical types that their vehicle should have a weapon on it.

Personally, my army lives by the "Every man (or woman) a Rifleman" creed. So even soldiers who are trained at the Joint Medical Service School or the Federal Paramedic Training Academy (which trains civilian and military alike), must first qualify as fighting soldiers before going to their "A" School. Same is true withe Navy, Air Force, etc. Even the seaman striker who scrapes barnacles at the port can pick up a weapon and start taking names.

All my MEDEVAC equipment is capable of self-defense (which if my world had the Geneva Convention, medics are allowed to protect themselves and the wounded under their care), but the crew are often permitted to up-gun their vehicles, if there was something they could get their hands on and operate. During one campaign against a border incursion, an Infantry medic team, assigned to a basic MEDEVAC LAV with a medium MG traded it to an enterprising supply sergeant at a rear salvage unit for a fully armed Mark 1 (M2A3) Bradley IFV. Suitably painted with red crosses, out they went, shooting up enemy units as they collected friendly casualties on the battle lines. (The crew got into a little hot water, but not much.)

1) I didn't spell Sergeant wrong, I spelled 'Serjeant' correctly. 2) You did spell Sergeant wrong.

Huh, a little above what we get. But ours is that a medical vehicle cannot intiate contact and it cannot fire upon non-engaging hostiles. So, if the Medevac is not fired upon, while an escorting vehicle is then legally the medevac cannot fire (fuck that... *ratatatat*), but if a bullet hits the medevac, it can.

yes, so... my building is 85% complete but I need a good color for the windows, I want to add frost, and of course, shading, so C&C is welcome and a glass-like color that isn't blue would be nice as well.

I like the poormans sword. That is cool but I liked the sword with the black hilt better when the blade was dark. I think a leather hilt with an obsidian-like blade would be very cool to see.
