Decided to take that edit out and just make a regular post. Introducing my 62 tank Tank Battalion, I had to make some vehicles because I didn't have lineart for the types listed. It's a good thing my APC is so modular, look at all the possibilities. It's chassis is like a pictanny rail

Also, I'll leave it at simply put if I didn't want to help people make soldiers and more for their NationStates nations, I wouldn't have made this thread... I'm not perfect and I have people that tell me where I can make improvements. But understand that I've been posting this thread since 2010 and I am expected my hard effort to pay off which means others holding up their side of the bargain. (Not trying to incite flame so it's not flamebaiting, just saying)

Nope... there are only 3 groups of vehicle being used the Tank chassis, the APC chassis, and the HMMWV chassis. This means that only 3 groups interchangeable parts need to be carried for minimal logistics and number stretching.

Lame man's terms... my tank needs a tread... borrow one from nearly anyone as the tanks and APCs share the same type of treads.

If the intention was to illustrate say, the 1st Battalion of the Tortoise Regiment, Tank Corps, then sure - throw down all the tactical marks and vehicle names and mushroom clouds and kill rings you want. Generic unit orgs will not show that stuff, since even real life people writing real life orgcharts just copy and paste (a la Fort Knox FKSM 71-8 manuals for the Brigade Combat Team). If I can find one of my GEAR 1 Abrams that is a unit specific marked piece, I'll post it. I think I did some Phantoms with strike marks and tailcodes/buzz numbers, if seeing a few will make you happy.

Being a former military doesn't have anything to do with ART. But knowing something about how the military works can help clarify fine points of an argument. I don't think I've seen any illos on here of TO&E type unit diagrams with custom paintwork as you might see on a real life unit's vehicles.

Fine Point - Showing how a unit is organized will not show how a specific unit paints its vehicles or marks them up, outside of perhaps the standards of the armed forces in question. My GEAR 1 Abrams uses the same types of tactical marks as is US Army practice, with chevrons for Companies A-D (and a different tactical mark for the Company E Sappers' vehicles). Pips inside the chevron for which platoon or a bar for the two tanks in Company HQ, combined with the vehicle buzz number (which is also incidentally the tank commander's radio callsign).

You wanna go after making each unit in the Battalion more distinctive, Fash? You could at least slap on tactical marks for the companies, platoons, etc. if your nation uses such things. Or, colored pennants on the radio antennas like the WWII Brits, colored panels, whatever your fancy.


(If you download and zoom onto the gun barrel, there is an irreverent message from the Company XO there... Okay, it says "Eat Shit". And the barrel has six kill rings. The XO is a rather busy guy seeing as how his command tank shoots up the enemy.)


And from the GEAR 1 Air Force - Red tactical strike marks (bombs) and one factory (indicating an alpha strike against a built up target) are painted on the intake wind deflector panel just south of the Aircraft Commander (front seater). This one is a strike Phantom with its wing tailcode and buzz numbers properly applied according to G1AF regulations.

Why can't you make it? All this time you've been a part of this thread and you haven't absorbed any shading ability, any black line elimination, or any technique as a whole. You should be sitting down with the best lineart available and using the TECHNIQUE NOT COPY AND PASTING.

Which means try making different shades of color to shade, try using real life weapons and your own body as a reference when you're drawing weapons and troops, try using real life vehicles as a reference for drawing vehicles. Pay the hell attention to detail and wake up.

You are not a new designer anymore and this goes to all yall who copy and paste but are veterans like Saurisisia, Graditora, Gear 1, and others who are still below average in designing yet have been posting in this thread for at least a 8 months.

Yall need to get it together and start developing, we're on Winter Break those of you who are school children like myself, yall need to start sitting down and evaluating where your weaknesses and start fixing them. If yall don't stop posting art with no improvement after yall have been here a year or more yall may need to find something else to do like play CoD or Halo 4. You're wasting everyone's time. This thread is for people who want to post art, get critiqued on what areas to improve on, and improve on them dammit, not come back 2 months later posting the same quality stuff like all this comments aren't hitting home or you just don't want to get better.

The best thing that happened to me several months ago was Premislyd telling me my lineart was only decent in which then I took on a personal vendetta to honestly evaluate myself then sit down and get better. It's time for yall to stop posting trash that you know is trash and try to get better.

Hey here's an idea why don't you butt out? You don't own the thread and I'm bloody sick of your shitty attitude and your holier-than-thou thought process.

For once Fash I'm not on your side. I'm not here because I'm an artist. I'm here because I enjoy making digital soldiers which I then use for my personal amusement and/or to illustrate the appearance of different factions on NS that I create. I have improved somewhat in my time here as I can now paste together vastly better, neater soldiers as well as draw small pieces of equipment for them from scratch.

In short, I'm not her to dedicate my life to art. I'm here to see some cool lineart, incorporate some of it into my own and post my own lineart on occasion.

The modification of either Kourallia's or Grad's IFV (I don't know who made the original seen as both did something with it). Righto, now to 'splain what I did.

Modifications-
Made into Hovercraft
Made longer to accommodate 10 rather than 8 man squads.
Pushed back the front view port 2 pixels (I know not a huge deal but it's good to record these things)
New Things-
Made the Armored HMG mount.

Now on to the Q&C...
This is not a critique of hover vehicles. So please don't go realism wanking all over the thread, because I'm not doing something realistic in MT (I prefer to play pretty far into the PMT). The biggest things I'm concerned about is how my lift fan assembly looks, and how the gun-sight looks. I intend on expanding this, making a Command, SPG, and AAA variants of this vehicle , and I also am attempting to make smoke launchers, possibly landing struts as well.

Finally, credits to Grad or Kour (or both) for making, at the very least the chassis if not most of the vehicle.

After finally completing my railway map, I've decided to start designing the trains... Well, design train paintjobs rather. Trains themselves are from Railfaneurope.

Here's the first one, Capital Connect's HRC344 that is used for traffic between Waverley and Sudport & Amstelwijk

The map is sheer awesome. Now I have to create a whole heap of station names so I can do mine.

The train is well done, but in a colour scheme that's ugly as sin.
