Anime and manga are banned in the Union. They are deemed "deviant and pornographic literature". Really, the State disapproves because it seems mostly geared toward the whole Lolita fetish, which is seen as a pedo thing.

Sure, it's popular. Our national symbol, Hatsune Miku, is drawn in anime style.

It is popular amoung pre-teens and teenagers. There are a few specialty stores that sell anime/manga items but that's about the extent of it.

Anime is widely popular and is our largest sector in book publishing. Manga is used in school as a form of education.

Anime is popular with adolescents. It is not nearly as common as western animation, but like any art form it has its fans.

About equal with western animation, although the fanbases are different.

Anime/manga typically finds its niche in the younger audiences (kids to mid 20s), where western animation finds its audience in the older generation (early 30s up). This is mainly because western animation experiments with various forms and tones, where anime/manga is stuck to their big-eyed, clone-bodied designs.

A few anime/manga have become popular because of their more mature themes and developments (much like western animation here), though the majority remains more adolescent and kid-focused since that's the main audience.

Eh, not that popular here, really. Sure, they enjoy a bit of a fandom amongst foreign teens and adults, but that's it. We Saurisians generally prefer so-called Western animation over anime.

Both are extremely popular here so much so DVDs sell like hotcakes and book stores can never keep them stocked. We also provide overseas animation work for studios. Very popular among kids and young adults.

They're mildly popular among certain sections of our population, as we see no need to ban it. As long as it is properly regulated to keep minors from stumbling upon inappropriate content.

Anime is legal under the freedom of speech clause of the Confederate Constitution but it is extremely looked down upon by mainstream society. Members of the Southern Socialist Volunteer Guards have been known to attack Anime fan clubs in violent street fights and Police often break up such meetings and place their attendants under arrest. Anime depicting grotesque sexual acts such as sexual violence against minors is banned nationwide and being found in possession of such materials can result in a incarceration in a "Joycamp" or forced reconditioning if you are a minor yourself.

Anime and manga aren't very popular in the Federation, but they had their golden age around 20 years ago.
Anti-fascism is a common obligation for sensible citizens of modern countries. But why was the term stolen entirely by anarcho-socialists?
