The Federal Republic of Shamsiyya is officially a secular state. However, Shamsiyyans are known to be an extraordinary pious people - with atheism/agnosticism generally being accepted, but notably uncommon, save for foreign visitors and residents.
The religious landscape in Shamsiyya is quite diverse, the reason for which being Shamsiyyan history. Within the last two millennia, various foreigners ended up in what was known as Penra and its surroundings back then. Many adopted the existent faith, Kemeti Polytheism*), but many also brought their own into the Lands. Some particular Cults replaced the old ones during the process of integration and amalgamation.
Since certain Cults have evolved and gotten very prevalent throughout this span of time, the most important faiths will be divided up by Cult Membership for the purpose of this list.
As of 2019, the religious makeup of Shamsiyya looked as follows:
  • The Cult of the Children of the Sun (The Cult of Ra): 71.38%.
  • The Cult of Ishtar: 13.43%.
  • The Cult of Osiris: 5.70%.
  • The Cult of Anubis: 3.66%.
  • Tengri-Shamanism: 3.28%.
  • other: 2,55%.

*) (OOC: 'Kemet' is the Ancient Egyptian word for Ancient Egypt. In my canon, Kemet is said to be a mythological place of origin of the Shamsiyyan people, not a country that really existed, as my canon is not set in the real world.)

Mauzanese Folk Religion, broadly classified as Figira Keimu (The Far Path), is followed by the majority of the nation. Its main concepts include

Mish'trali o Durako: The Celestial Twins. A "Good" God and a "Bad" God

Itawal: "Growing Closer," a concept similar to Eastern Christian Theosis, wherein the person, through cultivation of good morals and ritual, grows closer to the Mish'trali both in behavior and relationship. However, in this case it cuts both ways. A person doing bad things goes through Itawal with Durako and the other evil spirits.

Guwa o Tare: "Mind and Heart" have a tendency to disjoin. This should be fought, and unity between the two is prized.

Over half of Andocara’s population isn’t affiliated with a religion. Andocara is an officially secular nation, with nearly 30% of its population identifying as agnostic, and an additional near 20% identify as Athiest. Then there are people who aren’t sure and those who are “spiritual but not religious”.

Ephratica was originally founded by settlers of the Bentonist faith, which is based on the divinely inspired texts of the Prophet Benton. As a consequence, the teachings of Bentonism are intertwined with the republican government. In Ephratica, there is a noticeable tension between those who wish to emphasize the country's liberal democratic principle and those who want religion to play an even larger role in society. The vast majority of people identify with the Bentonist faith; other religions are tolerated as long as they do not make public attempts to proselytize.

Fatarago, is a shinto-like folk belief in Maizan. It has many "Rago," or "forms" of God, even though there is technically just one, and it incorporates veneration of ancestors, past leaders, and other valued dead. Light and Fire are sacred in Fatarago, and shrines dot the landscape of the country.

The official religion in Mansuriyyah is Islam, which is followed by 84% of the population, the remaining being christians (12%) and jews (4%). Other religious are statistically insignificant (less than 1% altogether).

Mansuri Islam can be classified as “traditionalist”, that is, sunni, based on the four schools os jurisprudence and the two schools of theology, and sufi. The most widespread school of jurisprudence (madhab) is the shafii, with some 57% of the population subscribing to it. The hanafi school follows with 36%. The remaining are divided between the hanbali (5%) and the maliki schools (2%). Sufism is widespread, with up to 15% being formally members of a sufi brotherhood, and many more being informally associated with one. The naqshibandi tariqa is the most followed sufi brotherhood, with the qadiri, shadhili and baalawi tariqas also being significant.

Most christians belong to the Siduri Orthodox Church, with makes up more than 2 thirds of the congregants, and most jews are orthodox.

Atheism and no religion: 43.5% (quite a low percentage by modern standards)
Christianity and Post-Christian religions: 36.5% (the Holy Catholic Church is the largest denomination, with around half of all Christians, but there is a small, vocal minority of extremely anti-Catholic Protestants and Post-Christians)
Hinduism and Post-Hindu faiths: 8.1% (another low percentage given the amount of Baratis in the city)
Islam and Post-Islamic faiths 7.9% (higher than the average across human civilisation and far higher than the Poddish demographic profile would suggest, making Pod City highly unusual and much studied)
Buddhism and Post-Buddhist faiths: 1.8% (mainly the Post-Buddhist followers of "The Way", an ascetic, cultish sect who have blended a bastardised version of Buddhism heavily with other Eastern religions* and effectively colonised several arcology domes for themselves)
Others: 2.2% (there are all sorts here)
