What's the status of dark humour (AKA gallows humour) in your nation?
Many comedic programmes feature dark humour, for example: we cloned the dead American comedian George Carlin, and this clone (who we've named George Carlin II) is a famous comedian around the Alliance and our neighbors and allies.

Dark humor, in particular the barbarian bashing kind is one of the favorite entertainment types in Purpelia. Purpelians just love cracking jokes about stupid barbarians killing them self with stupidity. To cite a newspaper article from 2001: "Pilots play chicken with building and lose, twice."

Dark Humour is very popular in Kamany, especially when it's about a disability (blindness, illness, ...).
This kind of Humour is also used to criticize inequalities or clichés.

A lot of our darker humour has to do with cannibalism:

"If you mess with us, we'll eat you alive. No, just kidding. We won't eat you alive. We'll cook you first."

"Racists, the other white meat."

"Our culture has a strict eat-what-you-kill policy. That's why murders are so rare. It's also why we don't have captal punishment - there wouldn't be enough for everybody."

The military are predictably fond of dark humour. One example is the song, Gory, Gory, What a Hell of a Way to Die, about a paratrooper whose chute didn't open.

Gallows Humour is a popular form of humour that arose from the need of the population to cope with years of colonial rule under the Sinnohian empire, facing strong prejudice under imperialism, even 2 years of slavery, until it was revoked when the Gijinka began to rebel and massacre slave owners. Even the name of the species "Gijinka" had arisen from such Dark Humour, as it was initially a pejorative term by the Sinnohians to describe the native inhabitants of their colony of New Sinnoh, but was since re-appropriated.

It is not surprising that dark humour continues to be appreciated by the Gijinka nowadays, and it is a popular way for them to out their critique on the government.

As our name suggests, we hold the belief of a heavenly nation.

However, our dark humour mainly consists of racism, illness, murder and war. These types of comedy are usually acted out in a similar style to Clint Eastwood and his chair...

Dark Humour is popular in the lower classes but viewed with disfavour in the upper classes. Thats why it is almost never used in public.
