Purpose built police cars are odd. Almost all police cars are modifications of civilian ones, unless I'm going crazy.

Also wait until you see the jet powered, single seat Ford supercar that goes 400+ MPH.<3

Apparently, British Army now issues their L85s with Elcan Specter 1-4x sights with BUIS.
At least, that's what's in their TA 'meet the team' video :P

I don't agree. There are plenty of things a good police car would need that are not exactly needed and indeed should not be permitted to the civilian market.

Well be sure to tell Ford and all them that they have the wrong idea with making their police cars modifications of civilian vehicles fitted to standards laid out by a department and that all police autos should be purpose built for the task, increasing cost, and diminishing availability of spare parts, customers, etc.

Really all a police car needs is decent cooling, a strong driveshaft, and a good suspension, all for operating at high speed and high RPM for extended periods. None of this is hardly "police restricted" or something, though, and is readily available on the civilian market.

In Purpelia, police cars are custom made for each officer and sport an IFV turret where the passenger seat should be.

The patrol car number is painted in a rather fetching shade of mugger's blood and the interior features no less than five cupholders.

All for the cost of little less than a tank.

When I was reading up on them for my Doberman's scopes, the only two Specter models I could find were 1-4x dual zoom and 1.5-6x dual zoom.
And to me, that looks like the 1-4x optic.

Posts on ARRSE seem pretty clear that the new sight is the Elcan fixed zoom 4x with an RDS on top.

Unless you're Vietnam War era, you should be using the A1 through A4 models. The "M16" lacked forward assist, chromed barrel and cleaning kit, among other things, and was a terrible weapon. M16A1 largely fixed these issues.

M16A(insert number) or derivative of thereof would probably be still good fire arm for a fledgling "space army".

You do know that the US Army didn't use the "M16," right? If you're going to be pedantic at least get it right.
