As there is no central government in Khaddam the official military weapon is undefined. However militants and insurgents battling for power tend to favor the AK-101.

Current thoughts on a PDW round: take the .357 Magnum and remove the rim. Load it up with a 100gr, 7mm round in a sabot. The bullet would be constructed similarly to the Swedish M39/B AP bullet. Muzzle velocity should be about 520 m/s from a 140mm barrel. A subsonic, 200gr 9mm loading would complement it. From a 350mm barrel, the velocity could approach 650 m/s or so. So, more a M1 carbine analogue than a 5.7x28mm weapon, but enough to reach kill guys in soft body armour 200 metres out.

Thoughts, everyone?

Edit: alternatively, I could use 10mm Auto as the base brass and get a performance boost as less of the projectile is protruding into the case. I could possibly get ~600 m/s from the 140mm barrel, and 700-720 m/s from a 350mm barrel (assuming I hate my troops' hearing).

In hindsight, maybe .30 carbine would be the way to go, with a pistol and a PDW loading. Both would use the same bullet - based off the Swedish 9mm AP round - but the pistol version would be tailored for the shorter barrel (faster powder, lower MV. Both have a magnum pistol primer). Both guns would be capable of using either type of ammo, but at the cost of degraded performance (lower MV for the PDW, massive flash/muzzle blast/wear and tear for the pistol.

Yay, I get to re-enforce this!

Hello there, im going to tell you all about what is, in my medical opinion, the most terrifying illness in existence.

Meet kuru, AKA the shakes.

Kuru is a Degenerative neurological disorder, and a type of transmissible spongiform encephalopathy (A group of progressive illnesses and conditions that affect the brain and nervous system), and is caused by a prion found in humans. It has an enormous rate of lethality, and there is no cure. Death is to be expected within a year, and there is no known treatment.

I'm hoping you all watched book of Eli, yes? Remember that part where he walks into the shop and is asked to hold out his hands? That is to see if they are shaking, to check for cannibalism. That is Kuru.

Symptoms include
-Uncontrollable shakes, tremors, and muscle jerks
-Serious coordination issues
-Difficulty swallowing
-Difficulty walking
-Difficulty talking

Now, you all might be asking yourself "But strange internet man! How does this relate to zombies?"

Well ill tell you, internet children. You get it by consuming brains!
Many people attribute Kuru to being the illness (along with Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease) that started the idea of the modern "infected" zombies, who hunger for flesh. It has all the attributes of them. Slow moving, flesh-consuming creatures with no ability to communicate who slovenly shovel flesh into their mouth, though only small bits get down. And to top it all off, you need to destroy the afflicted area to "Cure" the illness (The brain).

If you like zombies, you should like Kuru, as its probably the illness that inspired it all.
I myself like it because im a big fan of biological and chemical weapons history, and im also big into the medical feild and love neurological system illnesses. The stuff fascinates me.

I am not a fan of The book of Eli to be honest.

Honestly he has done much better work in the past it's sort of sad he got roped into that from the chick from that 70s show; Honestly its just been down hill from her since that thing ended.

.-. But You are probably right with Your link of canabalism with Kuru despite the first "Zombies" As i would define the term not even being flesh eating beings but just mindless dark magic afflicted thralls.

EDIT: By "Still is", i mean it still exists, though not in the extent it once did. After the revolutionary "Dont eat each other" idea came up, that went down a bit.
Sorry, im really excited about Prions. I wrote a dissertation about it (and I still am) and I just LOVE them.
