I have a simple question. Just tell me if you think this combination would be any good for a roof mounted commanders weapon for tanks and other vehicles. The idea being that I am hoping to achieve light autocanon like effects against helicopters and other such targets with a much smaller weapon.

The Ohn Rifle



While it may seem fairly basic, the Ohn Rifle is actually a compact and sophisticated form of coil gun, using powerful electromagnetic forces to propel six inch metal bolts at incredible velocity with no recoil. The rifle has two fire settings, one a rapid fire setting that fires a nonstop succession of bolts for as long as the trigger is held down or until the 18 round clip empties (whichever comes first) at the expense of range and effectively turning it into a medium ranged (around 328 feet) crowd sweeper, the second being a much more powerful single shot setting used for long (up to roughly 900 yards) range sniping. They are designed as sturdy weapons with a minimum of moving parts; particularly important given the rough nature of the typical Ohn lifestyle. The weighted stock can be used as a bludgeon without damaging the rifle and is designed to allow for both "shoulder-aiming" as well as firing "from the hip" and the barrel blade is a likewise sturdy weapon that is typically used like a bayonet but can also be used to chop or slash as needed without damaging the rifle itself. Each Ohn rifle is unique and so details and appearance will vary somewhat from weapon to weapon, and specialty bolts with breakable heads containing various substances (hydrochloric acid, liquid nitrogen, white phosphorous, etc.) are sometimes used, particularly in times of war.

Rly? I imagined the HE content of a 20mm shell and a 15mm shell would differ significantly, or at least significantly enough that 15mm autocannons were found to have poor performance as aircraft armament eventually being superseded by 20mm cannons.

Can't rly see replacing a Rh 202 or HS.404 with a BRG-15. Even 7 KJ more energy than 14.5mm, it's still not quite a srs autocannon. >:

...You were the one who was saying they were dangerous. More so with a BR, but even a pistol round can go astray and hit a bystander. Aimed semi-auto fire isn't spraying rounds at the target.

Mostly I'm just confused about why you think the cop would be trained to do anything but kill the face-eating cokehead without harming the victim, or if that's impossible to get them apart a different way.
