Sorry to go off topic as well as be hostile, but I find that statement quite offensive as a liberal who supports gay marriage, feels that the ideals of communism and socialism are great, and is agnostic, which isn't too far from atheism, and in referring to your signature, I am a pro-CHOICE democrat! Thus, I find that statement very offensive!

Obesity is our current greatest danger. Fast cars and fast food are a bad mix.

We can't rule out that other nations will legalize their sex and/or drug trades and drain away our sex- and drug-tourism clients. Nor can we rule out renewed war with the Slobovian Empire, despite almost 90 years of peace.

Good thing we have some alien friends along with other nations to help out and deal with that problem.

The wider world, not all of it of course... Just the violently ignorant portions of it. A philosophy that sharp eyes, fast hands and loaded, destructive weapons are the keys to survival internationally, coupled with the cultivation of like minded allies has notably minimized the aforementioned threat though.

Well, we've managed to take care of the threat of foreign imperialism (thanks, nuclear program and ICBMs!), and once we develop our missile defense and delivery systems better we'll be mighty secure in that regard. Our domestic environmental issues are taken care of as well. Our economic growth is better than the global average and our standard of living is good, so social stability is actually pretty good now. Anti-democratic radicalism is on the decline, though with the Alianza Blanco discredited, attempts to democratically turn us capitalist through the Alianza Liberal are powering up (though new election laws barring foreign financing of political campaigns has put a damper on that). Our crime rate is awful, but we can find a way to take care of that.

Right now, I'd say it's climate change. We're doing our part to fight it, but if other nations don't do theirs, we could suffer. We expect spreading disease in the tropical areas, extinctions even in some of our most biodiverse areas, coastal flooding, crop failures, heat wave deaths, and a possible serious problem with our water supply if the glaciers recede excessively. Because of the damage it threatens to us, we consider excessive GHG emissions by other nations to be a continuous assault on our national sovereignty and strongly support international efforts to curb them.
