[Sanghelios]
For hundreds of years, the capital of the Sangheili Empire was held in the oldest State of the planet Sanghelios, the State of Vadam. The State of Vadam is located on the continent Yermo, in the region Iruiru, which is known for its lush swamps, tropical forest, and the Imperial War College. All who are born in the State share the surname of Vadam which customary of the Sangheili's tradition. Sanghelios had many capitals before it, such as the old capital, commonly referred to as the birthplace of Sangheili civilization, State of Amasee.
Entering the 26th century, the Arbiter Thel 'Vadamee moved the capital to his own state (which is customary) and had the Council of Kaidons Citadel teleported not far from Vadam Keep which is were the Arbiter Thel and his son, the arbiter Rtas live, this includes their family (such as mothers, sisters, daughters, uncles, aunts.) Vadam Keep is built into Kolaar Mountain, which is near the seaside of Yermo. The Keep is well noted as being heavily defended from the mountains natural defenses. Below the Keep runs a river which supplies rich fresh water, and allowing the Keep to gain some form of power. In the Kaidons Quarters, windows are placed in the direction east of the door, to allow the best possible view of Vadam Harbor, since the current Kaidon is the Arbiter, Rtas tends to use this room when he needs to meditate or stay calm.
It was once a legend that this was where the legendary Usze 'Jar 'Amasee, the first in his family to hold the name, fought off against the unkillable demon, Mara 'kishira, which lost to the Sangheili warrior and was turned into Kolaar Mountains highest peak. The States founding however took place years later, where the founder of the State was said to be captured by his enemies, imprisoned where the Central midpoint of the Keep now stands. It was said that he refused to kill himself for the honor of his family and when his body became thin from hunger, he slipped between the bars of his prison. he then scaled the mountains of Kolaar and made it to the top, were he used the water fall nearby to give him enough speed to grab onto a branch and land inside a cave, this is were he found the river and he would use it to give him the energy needed to walk for days, feeding on small beast and vermin to stay alive. After walking into the desert for nearly seven years he managed to make camp and work his strength back to normal, before prepping himself to beyond what should be possible for any Sangheili. Vadam soon made allies with wanderers and he would eventually return to the small prison, killing all who tortured him and killed those who sided with the criminals. After the the battle, all the dead were placed into the river below and the river would run purple for seven weeks.
The State of Vadam was important even before it become a capital, as it was were the first peace talks with the Asari happened and it would also be were the Sangheili would gather most of their anti air when the reapers made a sneak attack on Sanghelios in the 22nd century. The State of Vadam is currently known as the richest land on Sanghelios, with the desert even flowing with rivers in its center. The cities built all around the State are designed so that from space, it can spell Vadam.
The Citadel, were the Council of Kaidons and the Imperial Senate hold their meetings, and were the Arbiter does diplomatic missions (in the top) is the official capital building, with long "arms" were anti air turrets lie, the Citadel is not only for diplomacy but for defense. Seven spots are currently open with Landing pads nearby, it is predicated that these will house future Embassies. The Central body Is an Open roof, with a energy shield placed to prevent damage from any willing assailant. The Citadel overall is half the size of an average city in the State of Vadam.
