Ramadhan in your nation

Postby Mediterra » Sat Jul 21, 2012 8:48 am

How is the holy month of fasting (for muslims) celebrated in your nation, provided there are muslims there?

In Mediterra, where Sunni Islam is one of the 2 main religions (the other being Catholicism), Ramadhan is one of the bigger events celebrated by Mediterrans. There's a national law stating that all restaurants open during the day must cover their windows if the muslim population of the city/neighbourhood it's located in is over 50% (excluding Monterra, where this rule exists regardless of percentage of muslims). Businesses use Ramadhan to have special sales. Groceries and supermarkets sell more dates, sweets, and syrup during this time of the year. Department stores sell more muslim clothes and generally, muslim fashion is popular at this time of the year. The adzans (calls to prayer) of Subuh and Maghrib are shown on each TV channel. In traditional markets (esp in the south), food prices rise. Some restaurants don't sell non-halal products in honour of the month.

I'd like to wish all muslims of the world a happy Ramadhan! May we all become better persons during this month!

PS - just so you know, the current muslim year is 1433.

Honestly, can we just act a little human for once?

The Muslims in our nation celebrate Ramadhan by fasting for the entire month, wearing their Islamic clothes in public, and giving Islamic speeches on TVs and radios.

The Chinese also celebrate Ramadhan by engaging in profitable businesses to sell Islamic clothes, dates, sweets, and syrups to the Muslims who celebrate Ramadhan.

Ramadhan i snot really celebrated very much in Cohokia. There are very few Muslims in the country, since the Government officially Stated that along with Christianity and Judaism, Islam is a perverted, disgusting, and immoral religion based on a disgusting, perverted, immoral book. Arabs normally come here to escape Islam, wand they are welcomed with open arms.

As most people here work hard manual labor six days a week, the fasting aspect of Ramadan is generally not observed among the nation's Muslims.
"They are everything and nothing, the many-angled ones, unknowable, timeless, eternal. Ramadan Is celebrated like any other holiday, the government doesn't give a darn, the people most affected by the holiday are allowed to celebrate it however they please, besides murder and what not

The members of the Muslim community in Ruridova are allowed to and do celebrate Ramadan; companies will often change their prices and objects for sale in order to make a profit off of the holiday.

Ramadhan is the main religious holiday for Nortoapoco's Muslim minority. We don't really have any special customs for Ramadhan, but schools and businesses make accommodations for Muslims during this important time for their faith.

there are several beliefs that have periods of fasting. these are primarily beliefs indigenous to the planet lananara, upon which cameroi is located, and not primarily those of planet earth.
there is of course no restriction against any belief engaging in such practice, nor upon the religious freedom of any individual.

While Islam is not the majority religion, many people still celebrate it and its holidays. As such, Ramadhan is usually celebrated with prayers and parades, same as most holidays.

No part of any government in Northwest Slobovia recognizes any religion, so Moslems do what they or their congregation feel is required for their holidays. In any case, Moslems make up a little less than 1% of Northwest Slobovia's population, so Ramadan is little noticed outside the Moslem community.

Muslims in Bereia are as free as all religious groups. They may observe the holy days of Islam as they wish, if they wish.
