All children are taught Lyranian in school. That's it. Lyranian is the official and only language spoken on the planet.

All other languages have died out in the 500 years since Unification. However, they are taught in universities as an aid to history sciences. Galactic languages are taught in the University of Haru.

Students from Primary School are well taught in English, Sakanese, Han and Bahasa.
During Junior High School - Senior High School students are more than welcomed to choose 2 out of 3 choices - Sakanese, Han and/or Bahasa.

Mama teaches us how to speak when we first get our angels.

[Mama adds: My Children's "angels" are the devices they use for telepathic communication. My Children aren't born telepathic; instead, during infancy their brains are implanted with minute neural transponders that translate mental signals to broadcast ones and vice versa. The signals are relayed from mind to mind by "angels", small portable communications devices usually worn around each Child's neck. Each "angel" is a node in a vast communications network that forms, well, me.

When a Child first receives his or her "angel", (roughly similar to the age when xeno children learn to speak), my voice is the first they hear. Like xeno children learning to talk through imitating their elders, baby Children learn to use their "angels" to communicate telepathically by imitating older ones, and through talking with me. Of course, "angels" designed for baby Children are different than ones designed for older Children. They have many more filters and safeguards to protect the baby Child's still-developing mind from unwanted and possibly harmful thoughts and emotions that may be broadcast at them.

Using their "angel" skillfully is one of the most important things I teach my Children. It's much like a xeno mastering one or more languages.]

English is compulsory in the TBRE. The recognized regional languages (French, German, Russian, Chinese and Tedofian) are taught, as well as numerous others.

Elementary school:
At elementary school you must have Latin and English for all 10 years (20 semesters).
When you are in fourth grade you are able to choose a secondary language.
The languages are: Spanish, Norwegian, Russian, Arabic, French, Mandarin, Hindi, Portuguese, German or Japanese.
You have to continue with the language you choose up to the second year of high school.

High School:
You have to have both Latin and English all three years of high school.
When it comes to your secondary language, you have the chance to continue with it for the last year of High School but this is not compulsory.

University:
You must write 50% of your work/assignments in English and 50% in Latin.
If you choose to continue in the military (after the compulsory military service) you are required to take 4 semesters of the language you had in High School (or you can choose a new one but then its 8 semesters, not 4). The goal is that every working soldier (not those in the compulsory military service) shall know at least 3 languages by heart.

CANON UPDATE (OOC):
I have given this a lot of thought and I have decided to do some major changes to the Walosian History Canon.

The largest change that I will be doing is the removal of the “Walosian-Khelsharian War of 2009” and the following abdication of Empress Liat as well as the removal of the character Liat completely. The reason why is because I have developed my nation into a more realistic fashion during the 2014-2015 era and after reviewing older post I see that the war and abdication of Liat is both unrealistic, doesn’t fit with the overall nation and is simply unprofessional.

Foreign languages are not taught in Koyro outside of Foreign Ministry training programs. Only the official Koy language is taught. The Government sees no need to teach foreign languages to those outside of the Foreign Ministry or the rare "liaison" departments of State organizations where the ability to speak a foreign language is considered necessary.

Students must learn English so as to avoid the hideous error that occurred in this thread's title. It's your nation, not you're nation. Students must also study the official language, Llamish, and must take at least 2 years of any foreign language in High School. (French is the most commonly taken, as it is spoken by a very large minority in the country.)

Verbs are usually taught in a system of 19 principal parts. However, most verbs are somehow defective. Almost half of the verbs are missing principal parts VII and VIII, and even more are missing parts XIII~XIX (passives). This is the remnant of an extremely old system. Perfect verbs are divided into two broad groups: old perfects and new perfects. The old perfects go without the signatory reduplication in front; the new ones do. New perfects are usually formed off the present or aorist stem, with the reduplication added, and the third syllable dropped to a 'zero-grade'.

Latin is the official language of the republic and all lessons at our schools are conducted in Latin, Students generally have a reasonable command of spoken Latin by the time they enter school since it is their native language, But migrants have additional language classes they can attend and they are issued with a translator pad while they are learning so they can participate in lessons whilst they are learning Latin.

Latin education is expanded upon in our education system from creche to university (communications and scholarship is a core subject in all courses and it teaches students how to write academic reports in the correct style(s)).

Students must also learn at least one foreign language at high-school.

Lojban and Ithkuil are taught as soon as children leave kindergarten; however, Lojban tends to be the most popular language of instruction, and uually only bits of Ithkuil are taught (or used outside of class, particularly due to the difficulty of pronouncing the words). English is taught from second year elementary; it sees less use than Lojban in public, but slightly more than Ithkuil, even among those with average quality education.

Language education is a heavy part of the Tanovartian curriculum. In their first year of schooling, students can choose to either study Dutch, English, French, or Finnish. They have classes in this language for ten years, at which point it becomes optional. Universities in Tanovart also offer courses in these four languages as well as German, Polish, Russian, Italian, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Portuguese. Immersion schools are also abundant in many languages, mostly the four listed first.

Students whose first language is not Travonatian can choose to learn Travonatian instead of Dutch, English, French, or Finnish.

In schools, students learn two languages other than their school's language of instruction. Most schools have Greek or Turkish as the language of instruction. The popular second languages are Turkish (for Greeks), Greek (for Turks), English, Arabic, French, German and Spanish. Generally, pupils are able to choose at least one of them themselves.

How is language education in your nation? How many languages are you students tought of any?

As Nedvia is a homogeneous nation, foreign languages are not commonly known. An elite foreign language school that caters to diplomats and intelligence operatives is located within the Rufus Faust Political-Intelligence Institute. Entrance to this institution is highly selective and limited to "politically and morally reliable persons from acceptable backgrounds."
