Women are allowed to join the military, but they are often assigned as border patrols instead of operating at the frontline.

Women may join the Blk Prty's Medical Corps and Base Staff (At a rare occasion). However, anyone may join the Secret Police if they qualify, as the Secret Police personal all look near identical with their full body uniforms.

Then why even draft them at all?

From 1966 through the Military Enlistment Act, enlistment became optional and at the same time guaranteed men and women the same rights and duties on the battlefield, authorizing them to fight and also have higher positions, yet few are women in the military, in addition to the little incident of wars that Leonnia faced during all these years.

In theory, women are drafted into the Armed Forces of Altpeak on the same terms as men, meaning that they will be drafted into combat units if they meet the physical requirements. However, in practice men are still preferred by the Army, Airborne Troops and Navy and as such, most women who meet the physical requirements for combat units are, if possible, instead sent to the internal security troops or border guards

Yes, as long as they meet the physical requirements. The physical requirments of the Conlisian military, however, are quite harsh once the 3 obligatory years (for men) are served, so very few women actually get in. The physical requirements are the same across all military branches but the airforce and Conlis Defensive Force (Which is basically like the national guard and also fights if Conlis itself is invaded.), and are harder in some areas than the requirements for being a U.S Marine.

Physical requirements:
Stairs: How fast you can run up 20 flights of stairs. I really don't know how long that would take for an extremely fit person because I'm a fatass, but you have to be able to run up 20 flights of stairs. Enough said.

Crunches (2 minutes)
60

Pull Ups (Until You can't do anymore)
10 (I looked at the Marine requirements. I've seen really skinny people do WAY more than 3 with relative ease. They can just keep going and going. Upping it to 10.)

3 mile run:

26 minutes

Trek Test:

You have to make a long hike through the Vires Magnan mountains (with supplies, a gun, and map, as well as compass). You must arrive at your destination in 6 days. The trek (not trail. There is no trail.) is 80 miles. (Not sure how much being fat affects my perception. All I know is that the average person can perhaps walk 30 miles in a day and that being in dense forest without a path would slow that down considerably) The trek is less a physical test and more of a mental one of being alone in a somewhat stressful situation for several days . There's a camera on you and you can press a button to tap out at any time. (But you're also tapping out of the military)

(I have no clue how practical this would be)

Oh yeah, and no bug spray or anything. Because in a combat situation, guess what you probably don't have?

*Requirements do go down with age.

Yes, we can't really say no to anybody who can hold a rifle, operate heavy machinery, etc.

Only in support roles are allowed, though there have been noted exception. The Sovereign Guard is indiscriminate in gender.

Women are allowed in the military. And can serve any role they want, as long as they pass the tests for that position.
