In Maltempata, people are convicted in good faith on the basis of the evidence available at the time. If new evidence is found that proves innocence, then they are freed, also in good faith on the basis of the evidence available at the later time. We do not believe that one ever needs to apologize for acting in good faith, though we can and do show compassion to the person wrongly convicted and do offer compensation.

In the rare case where the conviction was found to be due to human error, rather than lack of appropriate evidence, an apology is issued, though compensation is the same.

1. The prisoner is released directly from court. If they wish, they may be returned to prison and released within 24 hours. (If prisoners want to retrieve belongings and say goodbye to other inmates).

2. The relevant jurisdiction refunds any security deposits, fines, etc., as well as the difference between the convict salary and nonconvict salary for any convict labor performed.

3. The relevant conviction(s) are stripped from the prisoner's "summary of criminal record", as if they'd never occurred.

4. In the body of the record, the result of the trial is appended with the phrase "CONVICTED IN ERROR", and the signed court order is attached.

5. A formal signed letter of apology is personally delivered to the former convict (usually the following day) by a representative of the prosecuting jurisdiction.

6. Under AU912 law, governments, government officials, and nongovernment attourneys are not exempt from lawsuits if deliberate deception, gross incompetence, etc., occurred.

Released immediately and paid AM.250,000 for every year they were in prison.
Incident erased from criminal record.
If found innocent after death, this sum is given to whoever is designated to receive it in the prisoner's will. If nobody was designatedin that persons will, or the person has ceased to exist, then it will be spread equally amongst his family. If he has no remaining family members, that sum will be placed on a lottery for the homeless and poor(earning under $5000/year/household), where all the people classified within that threshold are automatically entered into that lottery, and the sum will be split amongst 3 winners. If the winner chooses not to accept the prize or is deceased, then the sum re-enters the lottery, and repeats this until it finds a winner who will accept the prize or is still living.

They are apologized by the judge preceding over the hearing and let go; with their criminal records cleared. They and their nearest three family members are given a dinner in five star hotel.

They are given the paperwork and letter of employment within the prison: they are free to sue the government for wage of their employment and for pain and suffering however, since that will be a civil trail: they do not have right of attorney (ie. state wont provide them with an attorney).

Since trail is an hassle, if wrongly convicted prisoners file a lawsuit against the state: state usually settles for Nrs. 4.50 per hour without any compensation for pain and suffering. The value can be up or down depending on the financial situation of the plaintive and their legal expertise. Highest payout to a plaintive who had masters in law from very prestigious university and had resources to fight the case for long time had received Nrs. 15.40 per hour with 5% reduction in income tax for lie as compensation for pain and suffering (which is the highest payout till date) while lowest one was just Nrs. 2.30 per hour without compensation for pain and suffering.

It depends on the crime. If it was a small thing then it's just as case of saying sorry and giving back any fine/clearing the person's record.
If it was one that got prison time, then they are compensated with 25 Chingchings (a Chingching is like £1 in the rl UK) per day in prison. If it was one that got them executed, the Queen says sorry on TV, the body is given to the family, and the family get 5 million Chingchings, plus if possible the framers get put on trial for their lives.

Released, granted a formal apology, given the option of going through the transition process back to the normal society (including help finding a job), and given a small reparation for their time served. Depending on whether or not their accuser can be proven to have known their innocence, they can also sue.

We release them, but if they broke further laws, they'd be sent back to prison, WITH THE ORIGINAL CHARGES for the crime they were innocent of added to their sentence.

There are no prisoners that are proven innocent. If they create a major crime, they are usually automatically executed. However if it is minor and they are innocent, it depends on their criminal record. Very rarely do they get released.

Prisoners proven innocent are released from their rehabilitation centre after two days of crash-course counselling to reenter society. Damages of ṗ100 ($120) per day spent in rehabilitation will be paid to the person with an increment of $10 ($12) of each directly dependent family member of the person on the date of the final verdict. The person will also have their criminal record cleared of the relevant conviction. No official apologies are issued unless if the appeal case finds the wrongful conviction was due to human error, in which all relevant government parties are required to apologise publicly to the wrongly convicted person. In cases of wrongful imprisonments of over ten years, the Chief Justice will apologise on behalf of the Queen and the Royal Chambers.

The individual will be set free with her/his record cleared of the crime. If the individual was in the military, they will be re-enlisted to their current rank. The individual will also receive financial compensation depending on the time served in jail/prison.

If proven innocent, the convicted is formally exonerated and is restored to whatever position they previously held.If this is not possible, they receive a state benefit to cover them for some time. Since convictions are only ever made in good faith with a solid basis, no apology is made.Since crime is "non-existent" in Avaerilon, this sort of thing happens once in about 20 years. Maybe 30. Are the prisons even used?

They are sent home after trial, it is literally that effeciant and fast.
"For too many years, humanity was on the backfoot. Reacting to threats, rather than preventing them. Rest of the galaxy was bigger than us. Stronger than us. We were mice, hiding in the shadows, hoping the giants would not see us. No more. Humanity is no longer on the defense. We are the giants now."

If a Yousandi citizen is wrongfully imprisoned and later found to be innocent, the following occurs:

- As soon as it is proven that they are innocent, or sufficient doubt is cast on their guilt, they are immediately released from state prison.
- If the person has no place to live, they are housed in suitable accommodation.
- Depending on how long the person has been incarcerated, they are given a payout from the Ministry of Justice equal to approximately what thy would have earn't based on their income prior to their incarceration, plus an additional £10,000 sanyou.
- The crime for which the person was incarcerated are erased from their Criminal Record.

The number of wrongly convicted persons in Yousand is extremely low (based on those later found to be innocent), however it has been known to happen from time to time. Seven people have been found to have been wrongly imprisoned in the last decade, out of a population of around 130 million.

They are released and get recompensed by the government. People who make false accusations (like accusing someone of murder who wasn’t even at the crime scene, or didn’t had any involvement) will be forced to pay a fine towards the person they imprisoned. How much depends on how long that person was in prison.
