Legal, like most beliefs, but weird nonetheless.

Anyone else think that Scientology is a misnomer?

It's defined here as criminal organization, not as religion. So it's of course illegal.

The Church of Scientology is not classified as a religion. Scientology is permitted to be practiced freely in Elyomia, as with any religious organisation, however it is illegal for the organisation to construct any temples or places of worship. The Church of Scientology was formerly permitted to construct places of worship in Elyomia, but after the ascension of the current leader of the Church, David Miscavige, in 1987, and the numerous accounts of unethical practices throughout the organisation during his leadership, the Church was ordered to close down its 4 places of worship located in Elyomia.

The Church of Scientology is classified as a terrorist organization by the Principalities government, and all members of it are prosecuted as terrorists. Believers of Scientology itself are not terrorists in our eyes, and therefore allowed, but anyone who is a member of their church is summarily arrested. Currently we have around ten Scientologists living in Kingborough, and we closely monitor them.

Scientology is constitutionally banned as a cult under the Section 86 of the Charter of Minoa, with powers authorised by the Cult Act 2029. Previously a hostile stance had been taken against the organization, for advocating terrorism against non-believers and critics through its Fair Game policy.

Prior to reunification, Scientology was outlawed in Ionia and Thrace since foundation (as Christianity was mandatory), and Athens since 1998. The ban also extends to Charlotte Antje, Charlotte Island and Charlotte Ryberg.

In the1960s, Scientologists and the Church of Scientology were the subject of a government investigation. The conclusion recommended banning the Church and any organised group. As such, laws were made to do so. It is not actually illegal to hold these beliefs, but no organised meeting of scientologists is allowed to take place.

All religions are banned in Chiota, though that is not highly enforced. Since that doesn't cover Scientology, it has a specific proviso banning it with extreme prejudice. It's banning is enforced.

After a much publicized Royal Supreme Court case, Scientology enjoys complete recognition as an organization, and thus will be held accountable for any harm it does to current or former adherents, and other people. It was denied status as a religion (and the protections such a status would have given them).

Like all organized religions and cults it is classified as a foreign instituted pyramid scheme and thus illegal.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

Same As EVERY-OTHER Religion. We Allow It Privately, HOWEVER, ANY PUBLIC PRAYING, PUBLIC RALLIES, CONVERTING OTHERS, AS WELL AS CHURCHES ARE PUNISHABLE BY FINES, SMALL JAIL TIME, AND SOMETIMES TOURISTS ARE SUSPENDED FROM VISITING THE COUNTRY IF THEY DO THE OFFENCE IN THE FORM OF RELIGIOUS PROTEST.

The Church of Scientology is illegal.
However, Free Zone Scientology is legal here. Free Zone is a break-away movement that doesn't charge you to learn about Scientology or go through the auditing procedure.

It has no presence in Karliah as real benefits from daedra, aedra and divines are clear. Should it gain a foothold in the country, it will be treated like the worship of Molag Bal, Namira and Boethiah: allowed in terms of religious freedom but if their rites are against existing rules then those rites will be clamped down ans treated as ordinary crimes.
