Japanese is spoken by people in Japan and in other countries.
"For too many years, humanity was on the backfoot. Reacting to threats, rather than preventing them. Rest of the galaxy was bigger than us. Stronger than us. We were mice, hiding in the shadows, hoping the giants would not see us. No more. Humanity is no longer on the defense. We are the giants now."

"It is an undeniable and may I say fundamental quality of man, that when faced with extinction, every alternative is preferable."

The country, being a piece of land, does not speak any language. Some people do speak Japanese, but only a very small part of the total population.

It is generally uncommon for a landmass to speak any language. The majority of the people who live on ours speak English, with the immigrant culture making numerous languages commonplace as secondary tongues.

While Japanese is not among the official languages of CEV (which are English, Visayan, Spanish, and Mandarin Chinese), it is one of the most commonly-taught foreign languages (the others being Russian, German, French, and Arabic).

YellowApplan Japanese is a now-extinct dialect of the Japanese language that served as an intermediate between Japanese and early forms of YellowApplan English. As of a century ago YellowApplan Japanese has since effectively merged with YellowApplan English.

Japanese is a recognised language (not official, however) in OLSS, as Japanese are the largest ethnic minority.

Japanese has no official standing as a language in the TBRE, however, newly arrived expats do speak it.

OOC: for those who can't read japanese at all and because I'm only learning the language and not 100% here's the english

yes, many people within our nation speak japanese among other languages as we believe that communication is very important to the point that many school leavers can speak as many as five languages. japanese happens to be one of the more common languages within our nation, after our native language, probably due to the popularity of shinto, shugendo and zen buddhism, other popular languages include french, spanish, chinese and russian.
