We have a very powerful force known as the Internal Law and Order Police "ILOP".

ILOP can actually be divided in two groups:

1. The lower-ranked general police force that handles general police work.
2. The higher-ranked "agents" that pose as police officers (and often lead the lower officers) but actually do handle a lot of the secret police work.
Someone cares? Okay then. Economic Left/Right: -2.25
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -1.85

INFP-T personality, quite heavy on the I,P, and T.

The Sardaukar are mostly known as the Padishah Emperor's private bodyguards, but they also serve as spies and secret police, going beyond the laws of the Empire to achieve the Emperor's goals. Unlike the Sorores Bellum, our main military/police force, the Sardaukar are not held down by law and could be considered a "secret police" force for the fact that publicly, they are only the Emperor's elite bodyguard and special military force.

The Suede Denim Secret Police. They go around kidnapping uncool relatives.

No Secret Police. It would be anathema to a free and open society. That doesn't mean we don't have a very effective international espionage group, but domestic spying is outlawed.

Yeah, we have a secret police. Don't tell anyone, it's a secret.

After saying secret enough it sounds funny.

Yes, it does. The Thought Police regulates every action of the Upper Party, the Lower Party and the regular citizens. They have unlimited power. Their identities are kept classified.

The Greater Holy Empire's own secret police. They are purposefully a shadowy organisation, made out to be omnipotent and omnipresent, ever watchful and all seeing, ever ready to drag the traitors and nay-sayers off into the night, never to be seen again. The truth, no matter how much wishful thinking by the Imperial Government, is different. Unlike many secret police forces throughout history, they are constrained by law. They cannot abduct people in the middle of the night, nor can they round up who they like or suspect of anti-Imperial activities, at least without proper evidence. The reasons for this are dual. They were set up in the reign of Theodosios I to keep track of the activities of ex-Republicans still in Tagmatium. To make sure they were not likened to the old secret police of the Republic, he made sure they were bound by law. The second reason is suspicion of the III becoming too powerful.

More recently, the Ministry of the Interior has repeatedly asked to have the restriction of them being bound by law removed, so they can truly ferret out enemies of the state. Kommodos III has repeatedly refused this, as it would mean that the Ministry of the Interior would verge upon becoming all-powerful, with the threat of "disappearing" against those who would argue with Gebeon Tonaras, the Minister of the Interior.

The uniform of the III is purposefully conspicuous and sinister, similar to that of the Imperial Household Guards in that they are very heavily armoured. They were a dark grey uniform under black body armour, grey helmets and gas-masks with reflective visors. They are equipped in the same manner as the standard police, although they are armed with a semi-automatic pistol, which doubles as a light submachine-gun.

Inside of the Greater Holy Empire, they are charged with tracking down spies, traitors and investigating those who would damage the Holy Emperor's rule over Tagmatium.

The G.E.P. (Government's Elite Police) pretty much keeps to it self except for the most severe crimes. It has a lot of power, but is still subject to the Chancellor, and the G.E.P. is kept esoteric.

That would be the Department of National Security (DNS). Despite their name, they are actually a Secret Police of sorts, divided into several different overlaying branches, each with a degree of power within the nation.

Image
Emblem of the DNS, what it looks like anyway

The first would be the similarly deceptively-named State Police (or SP), the largest of the DNS branches. They are also the most commonly-seen, with their black uniforms and street patrols. The SP is typically tasked with squashing illegal political groups (i.e Human Supremacist, National Socialist, and Communist groups) as well as arresting couples engaged in illegal Interspecies relationship as well as the occasional (and very, very, very rare) homosexual relationship.

Image

Then, there is the Bureau of Undercover Operations (or BUO), the feared black ops branch of the DNS. They are commonly tasked with quashing violent protests, riots, as well as terrorists, rebels, and pirates. They also perform clandestine operations deemed too important for the COG to handle, such as eliminating Nazi or Human Supremacist rebel leaders or even leaders of foreign nations either at war or possessing very hostile relations with Saurisia. They typically wear gas masks while on assignment for simple fear effects. They are also well-known for the amount of Human clones that serve in their ranks.

Then, there is Task Force 1 (or TF1), the paramilitary branch of the DNS. They are elite troops, trained to fight and kill right from the very moment they emerged from their eggs (or the womb in the case of the Mammalian members). Typically born to parents who are either DFP (Dinosaurs First Party) members or are unswervingly loyal to the nation, they are indoctrinated heavily and are trained from an early age to ensure loyal and fierce soldiers ready to fight and die for Saurisia at a moment's notice. Thus, they are effective soldiers, given the latest equipment and are a true elite military force. However, they are also the second-smallest branch of the DNS, being only ten thousand members at any time. Their elite status puts them at odds with the Revolutionary Guard, another elite Military force which consists of 10-year or more veterans of the regular Army.

There is the Congressional Guard (or CG), a force whose only priority is to protect Congress from any potential threat. They typically consist of Reptilian members of the Military who have served no more than ten years. Their uniforms are similar to that of the SP except for the fact that they uniforms have blue stripes along the sides.

Image

There is also the Presidential Guard (or PG), the one branch that has the most important task of all: protect the President, Commander-in-Chief, and any other leader currently in power at all costs. Similar to the Congressional Guard, they consist of former Military members who have served no more than fifteen years in the Military. Their uniforms are, like those of the CG, similar to those of the SP, except they have crimson stripes along the sides of the uniforms.

Image

Finally, there is the Bureau of Covert Investigations (or BCI), yet another deceptively-named branch of the DNS that hides their true purpose: to spy on potential enemies of the state as well as illegal Interspecies and single-sex couples unnoticed. They are typically dressed in civilian clothing while on assignments, most often trenchcoats, well-trimmed business suits, and fedoras which are common in Saurisian male fashion anyway, though there are also other styles which aren't as prominent. Unsurprisingly, the BCI consists mostly of males, though there also female members of the organization. They are also one of the most secretive branches of the CNS, as very little information about them is declassified to the public, adding to their already sinister reputation.

Makaar does not have a secret police. Other than the two separate police forces which provide security to the Assembly Building (which houses our legislature) and to the Supreme Court, all powers of arrest in Makaar are conferred upon a single agency: the National Police Service. All stages of an investigation, from the initial crime report to the arrest and charge of a suspect, must be conducted in accordance with the law.
Makaar is ranked 323rd in the world for Most Dedicated Public Healthcare.
Makaar is ranked 272nd in the world for Largest Welfare Programs (per capita).

The Redsarkian Empire does not have a secret police per se. A section of our Supreme Command, the highest branch of our military, is called the Internal Investigation Service. The IIS has extraordinary leeway in order to fulfill its counterespionage and anti-insurgency operations. IIS agents a colloquially called commissars.

We removed the policeforce. Instead cameras blanket every inch of every city.

And if you break a law. Trained assassins come after you. Maybe to throw you in jail for something minor... but then again... maybe not.
