We are exceptionally clean,
Our streets are kept clean by an army of droids who collect litter, maintain our parks and keep everything clean, it will take a maximum of 30 seconds from a piece of litter hitting the ground for a droid to pick it up and dispose of it.
Garbage collection is done on a daily basis by a droid truck which empties the rubbish bins of every house and the public litter bins on the streets in the early morning. So there is no unsightly or foul smelling garbage anywhere in sight in our cities.
We also have a public bath culture where citizens go to the baths every morning and evening to have a bath and to catch up with friends, bathing is a social occasion in Novus Niciae.
And our clothing and homes and businesses are cleaned by droids every night while we sleep so our clothing and houses and businesses are always clean and tidy.

Kawaiians are pretty obsessive about cleanliness, as it's considered a religious requirement for our people to be clean before the Cute One. Kawaiian church law is loaded with rules and regulations about washing one's body, permitted and prohibited foods, and instructions about "clean" and "unclean" objects and how to handle them. (For example, money is considered "unclean", therefore a Kawaiian must wash their hands after handling currency.)

The upshot of all this is that Kawaiians have some of the highest standards of personal hygiene in the world, which explains part of their reservations with dealing with foreigners, especially ones from cultures with more relaxed standards.

Cleanliness is very importent to the people of the Alliance, with the typical person bathing thrice a day. Automobiles and other polluting vehicles are banned and we only use solar power to power our settlements.

Littering on government property is a crime punishable by heavy fine, as is chewing gum or smoking in public. On private property, a lot of the Federation's citizens like to equate cleanliness with civility and humanity. A citizen with a poorly kept house or residence is frowned upon, even to the point where at times he may be reprimanded by his parents, co-workers or boss as being un-nationalistic.

Dagnians bathe themselves at least once a day. Keeping houses clean from dirt and garbage is a major priority, but Dagnians are packrats, so homes are often cluttered with semi-useful junk. Streets are clean as it is seen as a matter of civic pride to not throw your trash in the street.

Cleanliness is next to galtliness.

Meridians place a high priority on maintaining proper hygene, and on disposing properly of trash. We have to live with each other in vacuum sealed domed cities, after all.

We bathe every day, sometimes twice. We also have bathrooms that allow us to use water to clean up well after needed bio-breaks.
