The Three-Side War
Occurred: 2116-2138, Archived 17 April 2176

The Three-Side War was the largest war to occur before the Cosmician invasion of Terra. It involved the United States declaring war on the Soviet Union for newly discovered oil reserves in the Bering Strait (as the world ran out of oil, more and more wars broke out over even small oil reserves). At the same time, the European Republic declared war on the Soviet Union to regain its lost territory in Western Europe, and the United States to take important ports in the eastern part of the continent.

The United States soon found itself pressed in by the two other superpowers, while the Soviet Union slowly fought its way into the European Republic's territory. The Battle of Paris in 2117 marked the second phase of the Three-Side War, during which the European forces resorted to guerrilla warfare to stay alive, and limited nuclear exchanges between the Soviet Union and the United States.

529 million were killed during the pre-nuclear portion of the war, 86% of them being civilians.

The war became way, way worse when the United States, realizing they were fighting a war they couldn't win, launched hundreds and thousands of nuclear weapons towards the Soviet and European territories on 30 April 2122. In response, around 9,000 nukes were fired at US territory. In the nuclear holocaust, out of 13 billion people, only 4 billion survived the first two years. While peace between the European Republic and the United States was made in 2124, the Soviet war against the United States and the European Republic would continue until the Cosmician invasions of 2130, 2133 and 2137.

In this town, there are canals where boat traffic go through and there are speed limits, traffic signals, stop signs etc here as well. There is a law that everyone must wear a life jacket while driving/riding a boat. Wearing a life jacket here is considered as important as wearing a seatbelt in a car.
