Because it was considered militaristic and jingoistic. So mentioning Gònava was only done in nationalistic circles.

After the war, 2/3 of Gònava plateau as province (18000 square kms) were incorporated as a new Province.(the areas previously ruled from the other provinces were incorporated to them. So our anthem was modified to add our fift province in 2004.
