If any Earthling was to visit Lanoraie, I believe one of the most startling and obnoxious things they may experience is just how ear-piercingly loud our children are. Yes, indeed, they will shriek and yell as much and for as long as they can. And to any outsider, it may look like bad behavior. But believe it or not, this behavior is (usually) tolerated, if not outright encouraged. Our children are not misbehaving, rather participating in a unique part of our culture that directly stems from a Lanomiran poet, who is quoted as saying: "If one can spend all day in a city centre and not hear a single joyous scream of a playing child, one is living in truly sinister times indeed." Lanoraie has thoroughly embraced the idea that loud children = lively, healthy society since then. Now of course, if you ask a child to be more quiet, they most certainly will, and none will shame you for it. But, Lanoraie's children being able to yell out in joy is a reassuring sound to many Lanomirans. We believe children are our future, so if they can let us know that they are happy, we must be doing alright as a nation.

So, to any Earthlings wishing to visit Lanoraie, do keep in mind that in Lanoraie, children being noisy is not misbehavior, rather a sign of good times. Bring some ear plugs, too.

When knights as a military force became obsolete, knighthood in the KNT was pretty much made to be similar to knighthood in, say, the United Kingdom; it became a purely ceremonial title that could be bestowed upon anybody. During the 50s, however, there was an increasing push by both lobbyists and nobility to make knighthood a more significant event.
