Psychotic Dictatorship

Postby Silver Commonwealth » Thu Jun 25, 2020 6:10 am

(A repost of a factbook with more explained NS stats, as I felt that I didn't have neither energy nor time to complete it from its WIP state)

Ministry of Education

Report about NS stats

  • Sector: Agriculture - ''Despite putting lots of money into industrialization, agriculture still remains one of the most important food and work sources.''
  • Compliance - ''It is not the usual criminals like petty thieves, or burglars which are the main issue - the cartels which haven't been completely wiped out, and the political dissenters/partisans are.''
  • Average Income of Poor - ''The poor are usually a bit less taxed than rich, and in the SC's 1st world, wages are usually bigger as well. However, overall there is still a clear distinction between rich Party's elites and proles, particularly in SC's newer regions.''
  • Law Enforcement - ''Spending money for police and other law enforcers is the main priority of a lot of SC's governors. When it comes to a thing like capital punishment, a significant portion of SC's cops follow the principle ''The man who passes the sentence should swing the sword'', as they consider it a good test of the psyche.''
  • Authoritarianism - ''After Reformist wing's reforms, a single person doesn't have nearly as much power anymore - for example, Father America's power at its height was immense, but at his last few years of life, he was rendered to a role of figurehead and poster face for SC. In comparison, neither Carter, or any of other SC's future leaders would have as much power anymore, ever. Blake Carter (President-Governor of SC's USA, and SC as a whole) specifically warned The Party to "not give too much power in a single person's hand" in his memoirs, which were published after his death, and creation of the memorial of the first SC's leaders. Even the autocrats from newly created regions like Central Asia (Which have more power than some regions, where the President-Governor is rendered to a puppet, with The Party as a whole being the one, who handles matters) don't have absolute power, as not only they wouldn't be able to rule completely alone in the first place, but that the SC's structure demands to have at least some political party assisting the governors. However, that doesn't mean, that SC's authoritarianism might have decreased - there was a small thaw period when the Reformists came to power, but SC currently is going back to being more and more totalitarian, as tyranny is not concentrated in hands of few, but rather split across the party. Albeit cultural change has slowed down too, it still continues to move, as a lot more of SC's leadership prefer more modern clothing or music, if compared to democratic thaws.''
  • Religiousness - ''Religion is considered as one of the cornerstones of various SC's societies. In fact, SC brought back the kamikaze warriors during Disputed Zone War- most of them consisted of various criminals, who were convinced by SC's priests, that ''by carrying out their mission, they will be redeemed in heaven''. Some of them are still being used to this day.''
  • Defense Forces - ''Military service is compulsory more or less in all SC's regions, it is only the length of it and conscription/voluntary age which differs. Once again - despite SC's patriarchal nature, women usually serve in military a lot as well, and are more similar to Spartan women - ready to defend their country too if necessary. Point shooting is a common training technique both for soldiers and school children, in order to improve their accuracy. During the disputed zone's war era, state could drag students out of the campuses to send them in the frontlines, and still keeps an option to do it in extreme situations. Those who returned from disputed zone would usually have an impact on their future life.''
  • Social Conservatism - ''Society is conservative, if not outright reactionary in a lot of fields, despite the progress in culture and clothing.''
  • Taxation - ''Taxes are pretty much the lifeblood of the nation, used to fund the various programs and infrastructure at cost of taxing most of the income.''
  • Health - ''Things like addiction to benzos are treated very seriously, and even in the poorest regions, healthcare is usually taken very seriously.''
  • Government Size - ''Despite the decentralization, SC's central government has kept growing, and so have the governments of regional governors.''
  • Industry: Arms Manufacturing - ''Due of SC's militarism, arms manufacturing is one of SC's main industries, which provides job for people in all continents.''
  • Corruption - ''Corruption gradually grew in the 60s and 70s during Father America's reign, due of the fascist bureaucracy's inefficiency, and has changed only very slowly.''
  • Sector: Manufacturing - ''The post-industrial era still hasn't kicked off in SC, which means, that regions like rust belt remain important to the economy.''
  • Human Development Index - ''The HDI reports often are either falsified, or focus on SC's 1st world too much - former Disputed Zone and Second World is in way more terrible shape.''
  • Industry: Trout Fishing - ''Aquaculture farms, and organized fishing parties are very common in SC, as fishes are one of the main nutrients in its citizen food.''
  • Average Income - ''Once again, this is where a major gap between rich and poor regions shows - average income is way higher in SC's Canada than in SC's Turkestan.''
  • Ideological Radicality - ''SC's politics could be described as ''extremely partisan'', and government is ran by extremists of various kinds, pretty much. Anti-monarchism is one of the most defining traits of SC's society - in fact, tabloid newspaper journalists would most likely be put in concentration camps by Tom for ''latent monarchism''. Another group despised in SC are the libertarians - in fact, there is even a popular phrase between SCPS agents - ''Does Libertarian want to play hide and seek?''. (Inspired from voice files of game Granny)''
  • Weather - ''Extensive mining and oil drilling hasn't been good for environment in quite a few areas, but it is somewhat countered by the clean air and various national parks.''
  • Tourism - ''There are no tourists from foreign nations, because there are no foreign nations on SC's Earth in the first place, and it hasn't met em' aliens yet. However, the internal tourism industry between continents is still quite popular - between the elites, that is. Due of costs, tourism is not a thing, which most can afford, and people resort to books/SC's internet.''
  • Scientific Advancement - ''Tom's special learning program has picked up opinions from some humans. Also, SC has launched an experimental system similar to China's Social Credit system as of 2045, with rewards/punishments, depending on the score. Right now, it is mostly operating only in SC's first world due of technological limitations, but other governors have shown interest about such system being implemented in their regions as well. However, things like cheating in video games, or not visiting your family often, can lead to decrease in score, along with anti-government comments in SC's internet. Meanwhile, things like doing voluntary work, or supporting government would increase it.''
  • Public Transport - ''Personal cars still are a rarity, and some are considered a sign of luxury, although people have been able to afford more car models with invention of green energies.''
  • Intelligence - ''The state's system of specialization has helped to distinguish the bright minds from mediocre labor. However, the rigidity and high standards deny high positions to a lot of people, so vacancy spots are always on high demand. Also, not every education system of SC's regions is equally good, so there are regions with more problems.''
  • Public Healthcare - ''Universal Healthcare is enshrined in SC's constitution and law sections, so a lot of people receive healthcare free of charge. However, it also means, that a lot of people's money goes into taxes. Also, less serious injuries typically aren't treated in hospitals - herbal teas, and other traditional medicine is used instead. When it comes to pandemics, doctors and governments have rights to use warning shots against those, who ignore quarantine - in cases of repeated offenses, shooting the breakers is allowed too.''
  • Public Education - ''Schools and state universities are attended by a lot of people due of education being mandatory, and for free, with further, optimal courses costing more. The SC's teacher and professor consultants have advised to reduce the amount of summer vacation for students from 3 months to about 2 at most or even less. In some places, the amount of school days is distributed more evenly across the year, which means, that there are less free days. The most important subject is mathematics. With the advance in technological fields, some SC's schools already offer possibilities of online education, although their numbers are still few - distance education puts more emphasis on planning your time and sense of responsibility.''
  • Lifespan - ''Depends. However, due of SC's overall darker setting, average life expectancy of its world is lower, and so is the median age. Still, although SC was built by the Greatest and Silent generation, those generations by 2052 have basically faded away. Baby Boomers have slowly moved away from SC's political spotlight too, as they continue to age. Right now, SC's equivalent of Millennials, Gen Z, and Gen Alpha make up most of the SC's politicians, although there is a strife between them and the younger generations too.''
  • Industry: Information Technology - ''This industry has grown a lot in SC, especially during the 2000s-2020s, which are considered as the ''golden days of IT''.''
  • Income Equality - ''Despite the socialistic policies, the gap between the elites and proles is still noticeable, especially in the newer statehood Commonwealths.''
  • Economy - ''SC's economic power and GWP is enormous due of the large amount of landmass and resources available for it. State companies and their local branches are tasked with economy of the lands outside central government. However, its size is also its weakness - resources become extremely limited once you try to feed 5 billion mouths.''
  • Environmental Beauty - ''Great Nuke war laid destruction to several places, but in some of them wildlife flourished, as SC didn't try to reclaim some of the cities back after radiation died down. The ''environmental nationalist'' thought has also helped in environment protection. However, the desire to extract as much as possible is what ruins it. Some of the governors have taken the goal of industrialization very seriously, hence environmental pollution is slowly becoming a noticeable issue in developing SC's regions. The fact, that the extent of DDT usage is not known in SC adds to the problem, as the toxins accumulate within animals. Although freon gasses aren't used for freezers anymore, they still had impact on ozone layer.''
  • Safety - ''When it comes to things like stray dogs, SC's government has made its stance clear - ''dogs have to be in a leash, and with an owner, otherwise they are potential rabies-carrying parasites''. In cities, letting dog to roam around without leash is punished severely, even in parks. In countryside, where there is more room, the law is laxer, but on terms, that the owner must vaccinate the dog, or other animal. (Punishment for not vaccinating them is also severe) In some regions, there are even stray dog extermination squads, which are tasked to monitor other wild animals as well. ''Social Darwinism would be letting everyone to fight on their own, which would mean letting the sick infect. What we are doing is opposite of that - we are protecting weak from the sick.'' One of the squadron's members has said in an interview.''
  • Business Subsidization - ''Well, due of our nationalization system, it only makes sense that we would subsidize the various state companies.''
  • Welfare - ''When it comes to welfare, SC can get even pretty giving, especially when it comes to 1st world. However, in SC you still have to earn your benefits. When it comes to welfare, SC is kind of a mixed bag - from one side it provides large benefits and its economy is often described as ''socialistic'', yet in many ways it is also spartanist.''
  • Eco-Friendliness - ''While citizens have become more environmentally aware if compared to Father America's times, and managing the waste has become easier, SC still is very far from deep ecology, and as it needs every single possible resource for running the enormous engine of the state, it can also reconsider the status of parts of the protected lands.''
  • Industry: Mining - ''Unfortunately for many environmentalists in SC, mining coal or oil still remains as one of the ''dark backbones'' of its region economical growth.''
  • Foreign Aid - "Although Tom isn't a humanitarian angel, SC being a world government means, that he inevitably is going to aid foreign lands. When it comes to it, the Ranger motto ''Rangers lead the way!'' is used to describe SC's America's policy - holding strictly to signed world agreements, writing guidelines for regions, sending humanitarian/military aid, etc."
  • Economic Output - ''The Gross World Product (GWP) of SC is estimated to be around 60 billion Commonwealth's dollars, while the per capita number is merely approx 18,765. Precise GWP - both total and per capita, is hard to calculate, due of the enormous SC's population. Also, various regions have unequal development, when it comes to regional GDP.''
  • Industry: Cheese Exports - ''Cheese industry is pretty average - while some cuisines use cheese more than others, it is not quite the primary food of SC.''
  • Culture - Worst years for SC's culture were the 60s, when FAE (Free American Empire) was pretty much geared towards constant conflict. However, ever since Reformist Period, and the brief ''peace'' period before the Scramble for the World, culture has flourished, with people having both more income and time to enjoy a good theater play or a movie. Museums are particularly popular, especially the ones about national cultures of the regions. One of the biggest museums in SC is the Rockies National Heritage Museum in the Four Corner Region, where the former states of Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, and Colorado used to met. It has both Native, and Mormon cultural artifacts, including texts of the Deseret language, and translations. Smaller groups like Ainu, Mapuche, and Koryaks value museums in particular, as they transfer traditions which would have been gone otherwise. Experimental archaeology is widespread as well, along with usual archaeology, as it has received budget boosts recently.''
  • Average Income of Rich - ''The taxation takes up a lot of the money of the rich - in fact, it is one of the ways we fund our projects. Still, they have enough money left even after that.''
  • Political Apathy - ''Political apathy is kind of a double edged sword - while there are a lot of those who don't particularly care due of them having little say in the matters, there are also a lot of those, who are politically passionate, and always discussing, thanks due of the SC's government college political courses, or searching for literature on their own.''
  • Industry: Timber Woodchipping - ''Logging and timber industry has definitely seen better days in SC - various environmental protection laws, and other factors have led to the decline of the industry in some spheres. Still, timber industry remains a vital employer in various regions, and while better usage of current land is recommended too, the usual logging is performed too.''
  • Industry: Basket Weaving - ''Weaving is still an important part in various SC's Commonwealths, especially the less industrially advanced regions. However, the art of weaving is taught in the more industrious SC's 1st world too, and men also are tasked with it, as The Party's doctrine is still about self-sufficiency, despite.''
  • Industry: Furniture Restoration - ''Furniture Restoration companies earn a lot - not exactly from producing new models, however, but from the repairs instead.''
  • Population - ''The population of SC's Earth is estimated to be about 5 billion in 2052. The exact number is hard to calculate due of vastness of the territory, and instability in some of the regions. In comparison, regions like Western Europe have less issues with aging population, but of a bit higher mortality rate for children instead.''
  • Industry: Automobile Manufacturing - ''Despite focus on public transport, there is still a significant private automobile industry - mostly either for elites, who can afford their personal car, middle classes, or for people like army or police officers (Service car). The cars powered by alternative energies have interested state manufacturers too.''
  • Industry: Gambling - ''Gambling and lotteries not sanctioned by the state are usually illegal. Hence why Neo Vegas has way less casinos.''
  • Industry: Book Publishing - ''Does Party's propaganda count? In all seriousness, there has been an increase of published books recently, especially in fiction genre.''
  • Black Market - ''Black markest activities are prohibited by law, and cracked upon whenever a new network of black market and shadow economy is found.''
  • Industry: Retail - ''If compared of Father America's era, people have way more choice in shopping. However, consumer society is most likely never going to form in SC. Also, a lot of people still make their clothes on their own, which means, that the industry doesn't bring as much revenue in comparison. The stereotypical ''spy aesthetic'' is also wildly popular. ''
  • Industry: Pizza Delivery - ''Pizzas were (And still are in some places) a deficit product, which means that the industry is not as big. It was also not listed as ''necessary'' food in ration cards, which made accessing it even harder during Three Superstate era in all Superstates. However, more and more people can afford it. Despite ration cards still being a thing, more wealth has allowed to spend more money for. Meat pizzas of various kinds are the favorite type of SC's Americans.''
  • Industry: Insurance - ''Most of the insurance is covered by various state companies, so the competition is little if any - it can also impact the quality of the services.''
  • Employment - ''The recent Scramble of the World has opened a lot of jobs and vacancy - however, mostly for the reconstruction, and hard labor in new regions. The immigration restriction limits state company abilities of permanent foreign workers, but there are plenty of workers with ''temporary visas'' who are there to work in construction sites.''
  • Average Disposable Income - ''As for gaming in SC, the more strategy based or horror games are one of the most popular genres in SC, and one of the things which all major SC's game developers have attempted to implement is an accurate representation of partisan warfare in game's engine. Some popular games in SC are stickman, and/or sniper games like Sift Heads 4, or strategy games like World Domination 2. Minecraft and roblox are still around in SC's timeline, while Fortnite has been long dead (Although they aren't in their exact forms, due of timeline divergences). Flash gaming in general is taken more seriously in SC's timeline, and a lot of the people perceived as ''gamers'' in its world actually play flash games. One of the most popular is a game similar to Sift Heads: World Act series - you have to travel around the world for various contracts and missions (mostly sifting), and have to uncover story piece by piece. Some SC's commentators have criticized the series for ''glorifying the criminal underground'', but developers merely say, that ''through story it explores the criminal underground which is here''.''
  • Cheerfulness - ''The condition of SC's world and its ideology has significantly decreased the amount of smiles and cheerfulness between its inhabitants. Regions, which are more extroverted IRL, are more introverted in SC, and so on. However, despite the SC's society's leaning introversion, groups like hikikomori don't have it easy at all - if anything, they feel more pressure from SC's society. So, while on average the SC's society leans towards introversion, there are still jobs and activities, which require more extroversion. However, there are indeed some differences - sports like golf are way more popular, and both exact starting and ending dates of events have been listed previously, with all of the visitors being invited beforehand. With SC's society leaning towards introversion and being collectivist at the same time, pressure on people is even bigger, as it is necessary to interact with members of the collective.''
  • Economic Freedom - ''If you are not a government company, or a farmer in a vital rural region, your chance to start a private business is going to be basically nonexistent. SC follows a model of command economy, having replaced corporatism in quite a few regions. That said, some regions could be still described as ''crypto-corporatist''.
  • Rudeness - ''Being rude is typically viewed as a trait of living in SC's world. However, you can't just spout anything that comes from your mouth, of course. Basically, if you smile for no reason (like showing happiness or trying to get others to like you), you will typically be considered a fool in SC.''
  • Wealth Gaps - ''The wealth divide between Party and proles is still visible, albeit less so than during the pre-reformist period with massive inequality.''
  • Death Rate - ''Death from preventable diseases has reduced drastically in the richer regions of the Commonwealth, and heart disease rate is lower.''
  • Ignorance - ''SC's schools generally manage to teach at least some knowledge even to proles, no matter how much they actually remember afterwards.''
  • Pacifism - ''As a society geared towards militarism, most of pacifists aren't that popular, or even considered as ''outright treasonous'', due of the military cut demands.''
  • Primitiveness - ''Well, SC doesn't have much luddites or primitivists, as such ideas are usually shunned, or even outright hunted down, and are considered ''dangerous''. That said, traditionalism still plays a big role in SC, and some of the countries have more backward technology, or coordinated research for that matter. Technology and retro are kind of weird in SC too - while floppy disks are on their way out too, tape recorders and VHS are still around and alive. IBM XT-AT systems are still used in various Eastern Europe's nuclear reactors. About astrology... Well, while magic exists in our world, Supercomputer Tom has been dismissive of astrology so far, saying that ''right now there isn't a proof that planet movements would affect our lives - planet movements have a scientific explanation''. Still, some astrologues are popular, and the existence of magic also fuels the arguments of those who study astrology, and think that it might be actually real, despite Wendigo not having confirmed its existence (On another note, hell and heaven do exist in SC's timeline, but it is different for each believer and system of belief).''
  • Charmlessness - ''There are a lot of reasons, why SC would scare off quite a lot of people - the whole totalitarianism, lack of safety on large parts of it planet, occasional good shortages, and so on. That said, its nature and architecture indeed has some charm, along with historical buildings and museums. And not forgetting the gadgets, of course.''
  • Averageness - ''We are no centrists, and we know that. And even when not talking about politics, we are not that average - we still have things like closed cities, for an example.''
  • Industry: Beverage Sales - ''Despite the partial or complete prohibition laws across the SC, a few drinks like ice wine from Canadian Commonwealth are valued there.''
  • Niceness - ''When it comes to love, SC generally promotes only a few Ancient Greek types of it, like agape - unconditional, selfless love (The love against a hobby is also promoted).''
  • Integrity - ''Despite the very possible death penalty for accepting bribes, the reward often is still enough for various politicians and administrators to risk.''
  • Obesity - ''A lot of populace is still pretty thin, especially in the former disputed zone and former two superstate territories, particularly due of periods of starvation, and irregular food supply. However, in SC the percentage of obese people has been slowly rising, especially in its 1st world, due of the fast food stations (Originally fast-food was invented by SC's scientists as a cheap way for workers to gather all the necessary calories), and an appetite is still in genes of a lot of SC's westerners too, due of the hunger during Father America's era. Tom has said in his speeches, that ''in democracies, some men turn into lazy, chip eating alcoholics, and become weak both mentally and physically, thus Spartan lifestyle is necessary.''
  • Compassion - ''Although SC's citizens can be pretty helpful if you manage to know them closer, they are usually not that warm greeting when you first meet them, and it might seem that they aren't too interested in helping out - might be due of the Sc's Earth's overall introversion, might be due of totalitarianism, or a mix of both.
  • Political Freedom - ''Even groups like National Anarchists aren't too much keen on political freedom.''
  • Freedom From Taxation - ''Taxes are considered as ''lifeblood of the nation'' in SC, so the tax collectors and government agencies are strict about this. Libertarian ideas about taxation don't fly well there.''
  • Civil Rights - ''SC might have started to provide better clothing and food for citizens in its regions, but make no mistake - it is not one of your benevolent dictatorships, and the status of civil rights there is still very miserable and totalitarian, basically. Having a bit more modern (Or rather early 21st century) fashion isn't a civil right on its own, right?''
  • Secularism - ''Some governors are technocrats, or are simply less religious, but overall the SC's society is deeply religious, especially the lower - Prole class.''
  • Youth Rebelliousness - ''Teenagers are often considered ''less rebellious'' than in democracies. However, the youth help call centers and surveys show, that it isn't exactly the case - youth in SC usually simply express the protest in a bit different way - like supporting shunned political ideas or expressing support for partisans. Sometimes it ends badly.''
  • Inclusiveness - ''Just because we are a world government doesn't necessarily mean that we would be multiculturalist, or any other of that - rather the opposite, in fact. When it comes to certain social minorities, we are even less so. Our policy towards our universe's aliens is - ''if you find an one, shoot!''
  • Crime - ''There is not really a phenomena of serial killers, but rather the opposite. Usually SNN will not put the name of the person who has committed the crime - not because they would want to protect their privacy, but more because they don't want to give criminals ''too much attention''. Punitive justice is SC's card. At the same time, TV shows like Criminal Minds, CSI, and House of cards are popular in SC's TV too. When it comes to police, however, most of the regular ones don't look like from dystopian fiction - more like a mix of the Soviet Militsiya and American regular police. It is the military police of which one needs to be afraid - they don't really joke around.''
  • Weaponization - ''While Silver Commonwealth as a whole produces a lot of weapons, the citizens, ironically enough, aren't armed that well. Gun culture in SC's America is more tied to the military and police glorification, rather than civilian guns, as gun ownership restrictions for an ordinary citizen are quite heavy - extensive background checks, a license which must be renewed every 5 years, inspection's arrival to check, if firearm and ammo can be stored safely in the house, etc. Also, things like assault rifles or more usually aren't seen in hands of civilians in cities and towns.''
  • Recreational Drug Use - ''Most of the hard drugs are illegal in a lot of SC's regions - due of medical, religious, or other reasons. Well, except if the state has monopoly.)
  • Nudity - ''Typical attire usually isn't very revealing.''
  • Generosity - ''There isn't much charity, as a lot of the things are provided by social programs instead, and most of the homeless are assumed to be merely those who refuse to work.''
  • Patriotism - ''Patriotism would be too light to explain the SC's populace - nationalism, or even jingoism is nothing too unusual in the average citizen's life.''
  • Hunger - ''Hunger in regions like Indonesia or Sahel remains a severe issue - SC could produce enough food to feed its world, but allocation of resources is the issue.''
  • Food Quality - ''Various food production state companies have sprung up, but people still keep making food themselves - like pemmican for SC's Native Americans. The ''Partisan Coffee'' is not only the favorite drink of anti-SC's partisans, but some of the rural region inhabitants too. It is usually made from acorns, but despite all that, it is still pretty strong. Shashlik is a popular meal, which originated in Central Asia and Caucasus, but spread along with Russian Empire's conquests, and is popular in large parts of continental Europe. As for those who prepare food - while SC is still very patriarchal, the men also need to learn how to cook. Some say that it is because of the militarism, and being able to prepare food for yourself is an important skill in all SC's armies. So, those men who can't cook at least basics (or people in general who can't cook) are usually mocked. While buying chips and raw food isn't generally viewed negatively, it still has a stigma to an extent, if done regularly. Food is also a very strict matter for some people - they calculate the exact calories people need to last with heavy labor, and eating more than the prescribed amount of calories in cafeteria is not allowed.''
  • Ease of Commute - ''While travelling between your own territory shouldn't be too hard, it becomes more time consuming and stressful when crossing the border, because of bureaucratic blots and special procedures, which often limit the average citizen ability to travel. Also, a lot of the former disputed zone's roads still are dangerous, being full with bandits, or other criminals. In fact, travel advice for Diplomats from megastates advises to stay in armored cars in quite a few of the regions. A significant portion of the roads are unpaved too, and are mostly gravel - not only in Disputed Zone or Second World, but even in large territories of SC's ''First World'', partly due of the fact that it includes lands like New Guinea.''
  • Influence - ''On its Earth, its power is enormous on paper. However, on the scale of Milky Way, not even talking about its universe or multiverse, it is still a very petty power.''
  • Endorsements - ''In 2051, when the Scramble for the World was finished, the SC's constitution also included the newly formed Commonwealths. Leaders of all autonomies and regions have signed support notes for the Commonwealth, but it doesn't automatically mean, that they are actually loyal to the concept, or leader of it. It doesn't really care if the nations of the universe or even multiverse endorse it or not, as it still sees itself as a some sort of a hermit, and ''the last bastion of worker and family values in face of multiverse's libertarian capitalism'', despite having an expansionistic, world-government approach. Sometimes it is also accused of ''victimization complex''. Despite all that, there are still organizations and people who oppose SC's legitimacy in itself - most of them are the partisan groups, but there are also the local elders and authorities which don't hold a good opinion on them for various reasons - either religious, financial, or others, and are viewed as threat by SCPS.''
  • Residency - ''SC in its current form has existed since 1990, when the first 7 Commonwealths were created (Other Superstates were still around then, and disputed zone was still a warzone), although it traces it origins back all the way to 1950s, when SC's first form - Free American Empire, was created. The successor governments trace their roots back to 30s or WW2 period, or in some cases - even to the early 20th century. Due of the disinformation by all three sides, it is hard to create a reliable image about the history of SC's world past the reformist periods - some historians have estimated, that ''a lot of aspects about the actual history of the past that historians might never find out, and we will need to work with idealized or demonized versions provided by Protector of Asia, Immortal Tsar, and Father America''. Either way, only recently it has become the gargantuan group it is now, and is tiny even if compared to the Solar System alone. That doesn't stop dreamers from having grand plans for SC's humanity's future in stars, however - by about 6000, SC plans to expand its outer space influence greatly.''

A very special road in Lillorainen is the Federal Route B77, as it isn't only the longest Federal Route with a two-figure number, but also the only Federal Route directly connecting the North and South Shores of Elverholm Island, and also one of the few major non-Autobahn highways which aren't interrupted by sections downgraded to a State Road or upgraded to an Autobahn (even though it has been considered a few times; see below). Even though the course has been altered a couple of times due to expansions and buildups of bypasses, many sections still follow the original course and pass some scenic landscapes, but also well-known cities. As of currently, the total length of the B77 is 865 kilometers. The route only runs through two states, Marrania (in German: Mangern) and Rigesöer.
(For general information on the Lillorainian road numbering system, see here.)

Image

The current course.
The B77 starts in Karienwerth, Marrania, east of the city of Breden and close to the state border to Rathenia, mouthing into the coastal route B78 (which used to run parallel to the North Shore until much of the road was downgraded to State Routes). From there, it goes southeast, going through the flat marshlands typical for the Marranian part of the North Shore. It directly goes through the towns of Theuscheid, Brederbuerschap, Enderfürth, Freyenwerth, and Gormrath, as a two-laned country road, after which it becomes four-laned, without central barrier, passing the city (and state capital) of Wettau while crossing the Federal Highways A57 and A2. It continues running parallel to Highway A49 on the left side of the Endau River. After having passed Levenfürth, Püttem/Marrania, and Idunspont, it enters the first larger metropolis, the City of Ladenburg.
Crossing the A30, the Ladenburg Ringroad, near Ladenburg-Jogau, the B77 serves as the main artery for the northeastern and eastern districts of the city, passing Ladenburg-Endep, Ladenburg-Jünkrath, and Ladenburg-Tentrop, after which it leaves the built-up areas and serves as an urban highway, built up in full Autobahn-style, crossing the A4 and the Ladau River near Ladenburg-Eschede and the A30 again at Ladenburg-Pollersheim (technically, the intersection belongs to Ladenburg-Bermen, but it was called Pollersheim to avoid getting confused for the exit of Ladenburg-Bermen at the A30). Passing Ladenburg-Hervede and Ladenburg-Bentringen, it leaves the city's territory again.
From there, it continues as a full Autobahn-style highway, serving as an artery for the Oberladau District with its notably hilly and forested landscapes, passing Rhonnscheid (the district's capital), Vahrwinkel, Leyblingen, and Langenbuerschap (where it connects to the A4 again by the well-built-up State Road L27), after which it reaches Lexingerhof, capital of the district of the same name, connecting it by four exits, one of them being the intersection with the B165, which connects Lexingerhof with Rohrscheid and Fehnscheid in the south. The area gets quite mountainous abruptly, and after having passed Fröndlar, the road's lanes are reduced to two (one each direction) again, and after another few hundred meters, the central barrier ends as well.
From here, the road is quite wide, but has no side lanes, only emergency stops every kilometer. The road is notably curvy, which is oftentimes considered quite a bit of a challenge for drivers from outside the area. The road passes several mountains, until it reaches Lindenthal (Marrania), then, in its curvy course, runs through Voerbeck, Voerbeckerbuerschap, Kellerop, Achterloh, Stochrath, Wilmerloh, and Henderloh. The next major town for the B77 to reach is Stoltena, the district capital, where it crosses Highway A33.
From Stoltena on, the road gets more narrow and even more curvy. However, after around ten kilometers, the state of the road gets better again, with fewer narrow curves and more bridges and tunnels. Finally, it reaches the town of Kaltholt, after which the terrain gets more flat again. From here, the route has four lanes again, but no central barrier and no emergency lane, limiting the maximum speed to 120 km/h. In this condition, the B77 passes by Merlsum, Eversloh, Drochterloh, Millersen, Heppenkamp, Schlegelsloh, Simmersen, Fahlen, Jaderloh, and Frederborn, where it crosses the district border to Vartrup and enters Southern Marrania ('Marrania Panhandle'). Getting a bit more curvy again, it passes Osterholt (Marrania), where it crosses Highway A45, Coppentrup, Kalersen, Ihla, Grosslestringen, Riedersen, and Portenthal, until eventually reaching Sassenborn, connecting the town by three exits, and crossing Highway A66 at the Sassenborn Intersection.
From there, it runs through hilly areas for a couple of kilometers, until it reaches the City of Vartrup. It passes by the city in the east, connecting it via six exits, the southernmost one of which leading to the renowned Vartrup Boarding School. After this exit, the road runs through a forest for roughly a kilometer, then eventually crosses the state border to Rigesöer.
There, it passes mountainous territory again, using bridges and tunnels, the former giving a view on the large pine forests in the area. After ten kilometers, the road passes by Bederup, then goes a few more kilometers and finally enters the city of Stettenborn and serves as it's urban main artery from north to south. South of Stettenborn, the terrain suddenly becomes flat grassland. The road remains four-laned and reaches Autobahn standard (central barrier, emergency lane), passes by Keutningen, crosses Highway A54 (A44 prior to its merger with the A54 in late 2019), and goes yet around fifteen kilometers through flat land, until it reaches Sahrenslee. After going through this city four-laned and again without central barrier, the road becomes two-laned again after crossing Sahrenslee's city limit.
From here, the road is wide, has emergency lanes and goes relatively straight through the landscape, showing mostly plains with a couple of hills. It goes through the towns and villages of Halmbek, Nienhorn, Ihringen, Listrup, Bekminde, Tiensen, and Rodelar, parallel to the Highway A69, which connects the towns and villages at the Rathe Lake. Unlike said highway, the B77 does not pass the city of Bordeslee, but connects to it through a number of State Roads, crossing them in the villages east of the city, namely, Kehla, Jöllerup, Bad Arlingsen, Bad Hennerkaupa, and Ueltrup.
Here, the Reega Valley begins. Passing by Systerbek, the capital of the Reegatalkreis District, the road runs through the extremely sparsely populated, mildly forested valley parallel to the Reega River, only interrupted by smaller towns such as Nyenholm, Nellingerhof, Flintwarder, Hinzhagen, Bellerbek, Nolten, and Bremerby. Here, the road doesn't have an emergency lane and is generally very narrow for a road of this priority. Eventually, the B77 reaches the city of Sophienhof and therefore the Preetz Metropolitan Area, touching its eastern parts, and, after leaving the city limit again, reaches Autobahn-style standard again and crosses with Highway A6 at Sophienhof-Kolderdiek. From there, it quickly reaches the metropolis of Preetz/Rgsr., connecting Preetz-Vedelar, Preetz-Feddern, and Preetz-Flottstedt, crossing the A31, then ultimately becomes an urban road, serving as an artery for Preetz-Nohrsen, Preetz-Harderstedt, where it crosses Highway A1, Preetz-Metteswerder, and the eastern part of Preetz-Pustingen, where it ultimately crosses Highway A1 again. Behind Preetz-Bramstedten, the road remains four-laned without central barrier and leads to the satellite city of Luderbek, with connections to the Preetz/Hollstedt International Airport and the cities of Alveloe and Fellerförde. After going east for a kilometer, the road turns south and ultimately becomes a narrow two-laned country road again, going through the Sundbek District's renowed sunflower plains as a tree-laned road. There, it passes the towns and villages of Koopmannslee, Berkeln, Olesholm, Gestrup, and after turning west, Oversottrup, Nedersottrup, Linneshoop, and Steenbek. After passing a few hills, the B77 eventually reaches the South Shore, serving as a southern by-pass for the city of Trinesholm/Rgsr., until it enters Trinesholm-Dorlau and mouths into the coastal Federal Route B42.

In short, the B77 runs through the following districts (with the license plate code in brackets): Breden/Marrania (BD), Wettau (W), Ladenburg (LD), Oberladau (OLA), Lexingerhof (LX), Stoltena (SNA), Vartrup (VA), Stettenborn (STB), Sahrenslee (SAL), Bordeslee (BOL), Reegatalkreis (R), Sophienhof (SOH), Preetz/Rgsr. (PZ), Alveloe (AL), Sundbek (SBK), and Trinesholm (TH).

A bit of history.
The predecessor of the modern B77 is a north-south trade route established by the Storöer-League of Cities in the mid-15th century, partly built up from existing routes, partly also built from scratch - especially the more mountainous areas. The League sought to have full control over the flow of goods between Ladenburg and Vartrup, as well as its connections to the East Coast. As a result, fortresses in the mountains were put up, and especially the strategically relevant points of Stoltena, Kaltholt, and Fahlen enjoyed an unusually high military and militia presence for their size. The local populace quite appreciated this, given how it made raids and lootings of highwaymen notably less likely.
After the end of the Storöer-League, the area ended up in crossfires between rivaling Western and Eastern Marranian landlords. After these were solved and Marrania became what we know it as today, the area remained forgotten, leaving the populace more or less completely in the peasants' self-administration it was in prior to the arrival of the Storöer-League's troops. This changed a bit in the 1920s, when Marrania became one of the strongholds of the Lillorainian Technocratic Movement. The area was found as a strategically safe position for arms manufacturing facilities, which let this rural area prosper. In the 1970s Civil War, the area was contested again; Vartrup was captured by troops of the Lillorainian Federal Republic, with the boarding school serving as a quarter for troops, and the production facilities at the northern line served as suppliers for the troops entering Freudenberg (Nessovia), located but 20 km away from Vartrup. This historical experience of being a 'frontier society' first, then a forgotten society, and ending up as a frontier society again has defined the regional culture and mindset of the Lillorainian Midwest to this day.
With the unification in 1981, the numbering scheme of Federal Routes became a thing, and the B77 got defined as such. Since the ammunition factories and storages remained relevant, and Vartrup still had a military base, the four-laned section from Vartrup up north got planned quickly and extended over the years. The 'old B77' between Kaltholt and Sassenborn got gradually downgraded to what is now State Road L309. In parallel, Autobahn-style extentions were put up in and around Ladenburg and Preetz. With the growing traffic in recent years, the four-laned section will be extended from Kaltholt up north to Stoltena; the section is projected to be finished in 2023. Plans to extend this further on to the finished Autobahn-style section in Lexingerhof were scrapped due to the mountainous area of the region, its high costs relative to the benefit, and last but not least, environmental concerns.

Plannings.
As mentioned above, the B77 is one of the very few continuous coast-to-coast Federal Routes. Even more iconic main routes like the B1 are much fragmented nowadays, since various sections were downgraded to State Roads due to existing or new-built Federal Highways running parallel to these. Other sections, which fit Autobahn standard, have been upgraded and got an A number.
Several plannings for the B77 were made up.
  • As mentioned above, the four-laned section between Sahrenslee and Kaltholt will be extended to Stoltena. Contrary to the extension of the northern section, the plans for which were scrapped, this is under construction and projected to be finished by 2023.
  • In 1989, the Rigesöerian State Ministry of Transport proposed an extention of the sections between Vartrup and Sophienhof to four-lane standard, as well as a change of the course closer to Bordeslee (with the old section getting downgraded). Several variations have been examinated throughout the 1990s, but at some point, these plannings were discontinued. With the already existing Federal Highways A31 and A69, the latter having been completed in 2018, directly running parallel, a resumption of this planning, considering the low population density in the Reegatal, is very unlikely.
  • In 2005, plans were created to extend the urban section of the B77 in Ladenburg to six lanes (three each direction). With the extention of the A49, which runs through the western part of the city, to six lanes, the plan got discarded.
  • In 2008, plans evolved to upgrade this section, combined with the section from Ladenburg to Lexingerhof/Fröndlar, to Federal Highway A302. Due to the rather secondary meaning of this section, this was not done.
  • Similarly, 2010 plans to upgrade the section from Sophienhof to Preetz-Flottstedt to Highway A317 were not put into effect.
  • In 1998, the Federal Audit Office demanded, that the southernmost section between Luderbek and Trinesholm be downgraded to a State Road, as per their argumentation, there was no need for such a secondary route to still be maintained by the Federation due to the A1 running parallel. The Rigesöerian State Government argued against it, claiming, that the B77 still takes a lot of traffic from the southern parts of the Sundbek District, so the Federal Government should not unilaterally delegate the maintenance of the road to local authorities. When the proposal was repeated in 2019, the State Ministry of Transport repeated its argumentation and announced to plan bypasses for the towns and villages near the route due to its indeed rising traffic density. These bypasses, running under the planning name 'B77n', are projected to be finished by 2024. The old route may be downgraded by then. Federal Minister of Infrastructure Lena Ammerup announced, that she agreed to this plan.
  • Several bypasses at the northernmost section, between Karienwerth and Wettau, are planned or already under construction.

Since Lillorainen's geography is currently being overhauled a 'tiny' bit, most information on it posted before December 12, 2018, is not entirely reliable anymore. Until there's a new, proper factfile, everything you might need to know can be found here. Thank you. #RetconOfDoom (Very late update, 2020/08/30 - it's still going on ...)

A superhero called The Watcher was killed in Murkville city, Eastern Province, Themia. The man of steel was shot down when he was flying over the borough of Warren. Locals say that The Watcher was injected by an unknown substances by the local gangsters, the substances made him weak. Two days later, a gruesome video about the fallen hero was posted on the internet, the content of the video is that the once invulnerable Watcher was skinned alive by masked men. The Watcher's body was never found.
Crime rate in Murkville continues to increase and is becoming out of control.

Although every Voxijan knows what the Voxijan flag looks like, you won't find it flying over every business, home, and school like you would in America. In fact, businesses, homes, and schools don't fly the Voxijan flag at all, with the exception of a fee rural farms or maybe the home of a history buff. Voxijans are a bit disturbed when they go to America and see flags everywhere. Voxijan patriotism is based on history and culture, not flags.

Despite our nation's positive relations with France, calling an Aikolandais 'French' or saying that our nation should become part of France is considered to be highly insulting in our culture. In most cases, if you say either of those two things to an Aikolandais, they will respond with the following:
«Un Aikolandés es un Aikolandés. Le Imper de Aikou-land est le Imper de Aikou-land. Nus n'es Francés. Et nous aimons ça.»

The phrase is comprised of sentences in all four languages spoken in our country:
«Un Aikolandés es un Aikolandés.» means 'An Aikolandais is an Aikolandais.' in Aikoais.
«Le Imper de Aikou-land est le Imper de Aikou-land.» means 'The Empire of Aikoland is the Empire of Aikoland.' in Saunian.
«Nus n'es Francés.» means 'We're not French/France.' in Boullién (Francés can mean both the country of France and the French people in Boullién).
«Et nous aimons ça.» means 'And we like that.' in French.

Naxeran preindependence period 1776-1821 Is called the Espanya babaua or Soppy Spain or Meek Spain period. This period includes british and french domination periods, that coincided with brief economic booms. The colony received many migration from foreign empreneteurs, french refugees from haiti, but the economy suffered due blatant corruption and mismanaging from spanish colonial authorities. The local elite supported by the church and colonial authorities was contested by the new merchant bourgeouisie influenced by the illustration ideals brought by the american and french revolutions. In spite the fact that spain didn't invest in Naxera. Spain itself was ocupied in the peninsular war. Naxera fought an internal war between their internal fractions and the collapse of spanish authority. By 1814 the bourgeoise faction supported by the free blacks controlled most of Naxera they had expelled the inquisition and adopted spanish 1812 constitution and opened Naxera to free trade willing to get more revenue. As spain itself it had been turned absolutists. It send a new governor. That proved to be as useless as their predecessors and was only interested in rising taxes, selfprofiting even alienated the plantation owners. So naxeran selfdefenses as the "Miquelets of Naxera" or the "gudaris" entered a guerrilla and privateering war against the spanish legitimists. Independentists also hired British exsoldiers (being the main contingent 1700 irish) that got them the upperhand in land and sea battles. While spanish were fighting along all across their colonies, considered Naxera a very secundary front and seldom it strengh never was over 6000 they didn't send any considerable reinforcement force or regular supplies or cash to pay the troops (also by naxeran privateers merit) so by 1818 almost all Naxera was in rebel hands when the spanish send it largest contingent of 3000 regulars, their numbers rapidy fell to disease, defection (mostly from members of the Hibernia and Ultonia Regiments) and malnutrition. So spanish were most time secluded to their main fortresses. The last surrendered in the 15 of August 1821. Being this day celebrated as Naxera's independence day. Although not officially recognized by Spain untill 1825. Irish settled in Naxera with at least some 5000-10000 more Irish arriving during the great famine in Ireland.

M48 steel combat helmet officially introduced in 1951. Is one of the high quality Euroclones of the US M-1 Helmet. model M48 and M48/51 and their underhelmets are very popular among collectors as armed forces tended to update the helmets liners to modern versions.

After World War II and civil war 1944-1947, during the period 1945-1951, the Newly raised Republic of Catalonia armed used several types of helmets. Prewar Adrian M31, British MkII and MkIII, AT, US M1 helmets. german and italian examples, etc. To increase uniformity, In 1948, the army decided to adopt the American M-1 helmet, which took the name of Casc d'àcer Mk3 model(19)48 (M48). Initially, The republic had got M-1s helmets directly from the USA, as part of the lend and lease program and military aid during the civil war. Also where large stocks of the US Army had survived after the war. Catalonia replaced first German and italian as models inherited from the deceased colaborationist Catalan State. No new examples were made untill 1951 as M48/51 with austrian and german non magnetic manganese steel. The first M48s produced were overhauled US M-1s, While models produced after 1951 being externally almost similar to US ones with the only differences that the steel used was manganese steel and that the chinstraps were riveted. The sub-helmets of these first overhauled models were localy manufactured in cotton Bakelite (brown-red colour) with a Riddell type suspension made of gray webbing. These helmets were painted in army greyish dark green. while navy ones were painted grey. Original Cotton bakelised sub-helmets were not suitable for the winter conditions in high mountain areas. Or in harsh Korean winters as troops of the Catalan UN forces battalion in Korea discovered. So the mountain troops were the first to receive from 1956. The new model 48/56, the production of the sub-helmets was assigned in to the company BIC Granollers and BIC(very popular by their pens, lighters and shaving machines (BIC is used colloquially to refer to a ball pen)), which manufactured a new sub-helmet made of fiberglass impregnated with polystyrene, which could withstand temperature changes from -20 ° to + 50 °. The company also produced the sub-helmets for the civilian police and civil defense versions. From 1956, the outer steel shells were manufactured in Austria by the firm of Ulbricts Witwe, Schwanenstedt and in Germany by Linnemann Schnetzer Ahlen and VDN / Busch Vereinigte Deutsche Nickelwerke AG in Schwerte. On this occasion, the helmets were fitted with metal clips for fastening the chin strap to the bails, unlike the previous Catalan-overhauled version. These shells were painted plain olive green. British AT were not replaced until the late 60s with a specific paratrooper version Finally, the M48 helmets started being manufactured specifically for Anti riot police pained in blue, with the possibility of using a neck protection and plexiglass face protection. Protecció Civil or civil defense. The hulls are identical to the military, were painted gray or orange high visibility, and were stamped PC logo. The sub-helmets, with simplified by removing the neck strap and were produced in the same colours as the shell. In 1974, the last modernization, as M48/74 took place with the adoption of the new US chinstrap typical of US M1 (1973) and then a ballistic plastic/fiberglass subhelmet developed by IQS. The M48 remained the standard combat helmet in the Catalan armed until 1992, from which it was replaced by the kevlar/Aramide, Developed by IQS chemical and build by Cros Flix plant. Ares helmet Or "Casc de Combat Universal" Mk4 model 1986 or M86. As it was intrudoced that year The Ares helmet is called "Adolf" by the troops because it's resemblance to german WW2 helmets.

National covers are also collectable. made by local supplier as Gamo. As the thick web standard cover, marines and colonial troops until 1968. used duckhunter jungle/beach WW2 camo cover, Mountain troops used the M56 snow cover and M68 DPM/white reversible Camo cover. Paratroopers had DPM 68 cover or blue UN Blue helmets cover and Other speciphic red/PM or medic covers.

There are no traffic lights in Alzatia, due to the lack of private car ownership. But bicycles, carriages and work vehicles are very common, so larger towns will have traffic guards to control intersections and railroad crossings.

Because we can manufacture things in a near instant (after all, we built our HQ on earth in a single night, which went from looking like this to this), when it comes to availability of equipment, facilities and the like, we are limited only to manpower costs (manufacturing may be instant, but the mages who manufacture need to get paid; in addition, the crew need to get paid), maintenance costs, and resource costs (for instance, many of our vehicles still need good old oil).

The Army of DxD is an army tasked with defending the world from supernatural threats that aim to bring chaos to or destroy it. It is, for the most part, neutral in human politics (though it does slightly favour NATO), but will actively try to prevent a world war, and, in a war, will take a side if its bases, puppet territories and/or concessions are attacked enough.

André Barbier had the longest post-premiership of any Aikolandais Prime Minister. He served as our nation's fifth Prime Minister from 1867 until 1880 and died 43 years later in 1923 at the age of 81. The reason for him having such a long post-premiership is a simple one: he was our nation's youngest Prime Minister, having only been 26 years old when he first became PM.
