I've missed a couple weeks so here's a couple.

1: All nobles in Nui-ta, from the princes down to the itty-bitty dukes and lords, are technically in line for the throne. However, by the time you get past all the barons, you're already at 400th in line and such, so...nobody really cares past the first 5.

2. Nicolai di-Amori is the current Monarch. Next in line, theoretically, is Rowan di-Amori, but since Rowan is 8, his uncle Jeo is actually the one who would be allowed to rule. After Jeo comes Esperanza, Jeo's eldest child (who is an adult), and then her younger brother Janik, who is almost old enough. Not that Nicolai will be leaving any time soon --- he's still healthy and fairly young.

3. Evan Isaci, the current Prime Minister of Nui-ta, technically has two wives and two kids. He was married once many years ago with a small son, but his first wife and child disappeared during a time of civil breakdown that they were living through. Because they were never found, they are assumed dead --- but no one knows for sure what actually happened to them. He has since remarried and has adopted a pre-teenaged daughter (he feels too old to start off with a new infant).

4. Hendri ri-Denshir, the outgoing Minister of Defense, has an illegitimate son who is on the opposition party: Ultimus Renton, leader of the CRP, is his child.

I realized that I actually missed several weeks before my last post, so I'll take that as license to provide another fact.

The gavel for the Detectatian Senate is actually a meat tenderizer from the royal kitchen during the Reginaldian regime--the founders of the Republic, keen on symbolism almost to a fault, used the tenderizer to symbolically institute the will of the people with an instrument from the Tyrant's palace, a symbol of "moving on." The tenderizer is basically the same as a gavel, except both ends of the head are metal, and one side has spikes for the tenderizing. Obviously, the Tribune uses the flat side to rap the gavel.
