Who is Osun State?

Osun State is a large nation with a growing population. We have developed a unique fedral, state, and local government that is base on compromise and co existance. We value Democracy and all citizen is encourage to do his or her share. Our laws are based on democratic values. Our values inclued:

What is thear culture like?

Although most of our population is from the islamic background, we try to understand and appreciate new cultures, customs, and tradition of immigrant that immigrate to osun state. The law has been pass that state that all people liveing our nation has the right to practice his or her culture and tradition, this law is called the cultural right of all people liveing in our land.

Freedom

As Osuns we enjoy large amount of freedom, such as freedom of thought, freedom of speech, freedom of religlon and freedom of peacful Assembly. In 1993 still part of o5vx. Our state the became the first islamic nation to give it people freedom of religlon.

Peace

We are proud of our none violent society and our role in brining peace to other nations around the world. In 196O our region became a major peackeepr in the world.

History

The history of osun date back to the 15OO AD, that was when the osun people were first spoted in the eastern part of o5vx. The first inhabitant wear known to be the Canafuru Trybe, who were known for the peace making in that part of the nation, Then latter spread thear colony all around o5vx. Not untill the 19OO AD till other trybe started immigrating to osun. One thing that osun was known for is the famous osun river, when osun dicided to become is own nation in 1955 it change is name from

Government

In general Osun State has 3 levels of government. The Federal, the State, and the Local government.

Federal Government takes major responsibility for matters that affect all of Osun State, such as national defence, forign policy and citizenship and immigration matters.

The State Government all the state government has right to pass sertain laws that will impact only on the people of that state.

The Local Governmentis responsible for all the project in each local

We also have 2 Law makeing house under the federal government, wich is the:

SenateThe Senate is were all the members of each local government and state government that have been elected by thear local government people, come and help make laws the senate president is the man make the final disicion in the senate.

The house of rep is were all the elected honorables come and help make serctain laws and were the budget is pass every year, the house also have a man

They must be debate by all the house member or all the senators, before it can be voted on. either the speaker or the president of the senate has the final say on it.

Political Parties

ANGAllance for National Geaid
The ANG party was created in 196O, when the first ever election was about to be held. The ANG Came with a strong fight to become the 1st party to take the office of the president of osun state, the ANG also became the party with the most seat in the senate and the house of rep. With an ideology of the government for the people the ANG as not been defeated since 1982.

Voting

One of the privilegs and Responsibilty of been a citizen of osun is the right to vote. Elections Osun is the non partisan agency of the house of rep of osun state responsible for run federal election and referendums. You are eligible to vote in a federal election or cast a ballot in a federal referendum if you are. A osuns citizen and at least 18 years old on voting day and on the voters list. The voters lists used during elections and referendums are produced from the National Register

It is important to add your name the National Register of Electors as soon as your citizenship is granted and you become eligible to vote.

This information will only be sent to Election Osun and added to the National Register of Electors if you check the box to show that you agree. The infomation is only for the used of election.

Elegible candidate are also able to indicate their consent to being added to the National Register of Electors on their Federal incom tax Form.
