Again, since this is more of a trivia question than anything political, I'm happy to answer OOCly.

This post I made here sums it up very well.

And I reiterate:
THINGS LIKE THIS HAPPEN HERE EVERY DAY!

So, by far and away, most capital punishments are summary executions (lynchings), and the victims of these lynchings are mostly those suspected of drug trafficking (and mostly Mestizo).
However, the drug trade is so profitable, people are still willing to take the chance of getting lynched and be a part of it.

Thank you for bringing this up, because the Drug War is, after all, the biggest foreign policy issue facing the Confederacy today.

(In fact, when I first invented this nation, I mainly meant to use it to make parables and analogies to the present US-Mexican Drug War, which is the biggest issue here in Borderland, but it's kind of taken on a life of its own since then.)

OOC Introduction: Before I give you the candidates' replies, let me introduce it with a little bit of Confederate history. In the history of the Confederacy, war has been the norm, peace has been the rare exception. You can actually read all of this in the "History" section of my factbook (link in sig). In its 150-year history, the Confederacy has fought wars against the United States (1861-1865), Mexico (proper) (c.1870-c.1910), the Empire of Japan (1941-1945) and numerous insurgent movements within its own borders (1910-1915 and 1948-1995). Since 2006, the CS of NM has been in a declared state of war with Mexico-based drug cartels. That is the biggest foreign policy issue in North Mexico today.

So let's hear from our candidates...

Three words - stay the course. Our military, police and deputies are doing a great job, we just need to continue to give them the support they need.

PERRY REPLIES:
I agree with my opponent. One thing those cartel bastards can rest assured, whoever wins this election - whether its Governor Huckabee or myself (I can't account for what will happen if the other one wins, though I'm certainly not worried about that happening) - the Confederacy and our partners to the north and south are going to keep hounding you until you are destroyed. I think I can do a better, cheaper and quicker job of it than Governor Huckabee, but even if he wins instead of me, the cartels' days are numbered.

VILLA REPLIES:
(Through interpreter) I agree that drugs are a scourge on civilization, but I disagree with my opponents that they present the greatest threat to our people at the present time.
The greatest threat we face right now is continued Confederate rule, but that we will end when National Liberation wins this election. The second greatest threat we face is the brutal regime in power in the Dictatorship of Mexico Proper to the south. Our fellow members of la Raza to the south yearn to be free, and bringing about democratic change there will be National Liberation's second objective. The drug cartels are only the number three threat to the people, and I think you'll find that once the first and second threats are neutralized, the third will be greatly diminished as well.

A Perry administration will seek good relations with all nations, as long as they don't try to impose their beliefs on the Confederacy. As long as you don't act like some carpetbagging damnyankee and try to tell us how to live - or try to sell our children drugs - I don't see why we wouldn't get along just fine.
