Introduction

The Republic of Ketrily is a huge, socially progressive nation, renowned for its sprawling nuclear power plants. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 593 million live in a state of economic, political and economic bliss, due to the government’s enforcement of both Randian and Anarcho-Capitalist policies.

There is no government in the normal sense of the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal, pro-business individuals juggle the competing demands of Defence, Education, and Healthcare. It meets every day to discuss matters of state in the capital city of Condell. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Information Technology, Book Publishing, and Tourism industries.

Ketrily is a relatively young nation, but despite its youth, it shows that given time, it may become a superpower. It has one of the world's largest GDP per Capita, one of the world’s largest IT sectors, and one Ketrilian kred is valued at two US dollars, we have a phenomenally low unemployment rate. This is a country where the artist will not fear any censors, nor any scientist would fear any religion obstructing his work, and where all men who have the ability and want to achieve greatness, shall have it bestowed upon them.

Geography

Ketrily consists of three main islands, the largest is Tisrocia, a vast desert, with a few oasis’s spread between it. Tisrocia has a huge amount of oil and natural gas trapped beneath it, and many ancient ruins, which archaeologists are still fervently studying. (See history).

The second largest island is Condolia, it is ideal for human life, with vast temperate forests, huge lakes and a great variety of wildlife, including nearly all of the native Kestrel population. The Ketrilian capital of Condell is located in the South-Eastern area of this island.

The third island is called Derisin. Derisin is dotted with huge mountains, and some small temperate forests. The mountainous terrain, and lack of human settlement, made it ideal to serve as a base of operations for many of Ketrily’s corporations.
