History
Grittonia was founded in 1963, by Supreme Ruler Pappa Nick P. the First. Originally just containing a large valley with 750,000 people, Grittonia hit its first growth spurt in 1965, when the Brittlonians gave up and the Grittonian population rose to 5 million, later in 1972 rising to around 10 million. In 1982, The 'Monarch' (as he had called himself) at the time, Henry I was shot, and according to witnesses, had died while spewing blood all over his killer. Muharat II, a 22 year old, was chosen by the P. Clan Elders in place of Henry I, because Henry was ruled a Rebel and public enemy #1 and unworthy of choosing a successor (due to his death). Muharat ruled 'till 1999 before giving his place to a bum in the street (Pappa Nick P. the Second), after that most of the intresting history has happened since Pappa Nick P. the Second took office in 1999. Pappa Nick P. declared a third party a year ago, and declared a fourth party this year. Following the decision by Pappa Nick P., his popularity dropped a bit to rise again, and Grittonia has entered its "Golden Age" (mostly due to massive Oil deposits and Gold deposits among other things).
Government Structure
Grittonia is a capitalistic nation with a few Socialistic touches. The Parlement is build-up into 500 seats, shared over Four parties, these parties have the right to vote on Govermental things and are able to push forward canidates for the Minister Elections. The general % of people voting in a election is 20% with a low in 1998 (2.5%) and a extreme high in 1968 (first election, 95%). The Supreme Ruler holds the ultimate power, being able to repel laws and able to instate new laws without the need to vote. After a recent survey, around 85% of all Grittonians are happy with the Supreme Ruler's leadership.

The Grittonian Military is large and well-funded, even if it has only played small parts in foreign wars and no wars on Grittonian soil has happened.
Guns are restricted to the military, police and to high members of the civilian militia's. Grittonian civilians who are part of one of the Four Party's can buy a gun permit for approx. $2500.
