Does your country's navy operate aircraft carriers? If you do, how many, and what are they like?

Hippostanian Navy operates 20 aircraft carriers and 20 amphibious assault ships that are sometimes classified as aircraft carriers, though they can only be used by VTOL aircraft. All Hippostanian aircraft carriers are named after female names ending in A.


The Merina class aircraft carrier is currently the only ''real'' aircraft carrier operated by the Hippostanian Navy. It is roughly equivalent to the US Nimitz-class, though there are some differences.


The Amanda class amphibious assault ship is considered to be a light aircraft carrier, as it can launch helicopters, F35's and Harriers. It serves as a combination of transport for Hippostanian Marines, landing platform dock and helicopter carrier/escort carrier.

The TBRE operates 2 small aircraft carriers, both of the Luxurious-II Class type, carrying up to 40 assorted aircraft. We also operate 4 amphibious assault ships, all of which are the Lambda-class, and are fitted with a well deck and helicopter landing strip.

The Radiatian Federal Sea Force currently operates three CVN aircraft carriers - the RFS Eisbrecher, the RFS Rosenrot and the RFS Rammleid.

Formerly we operated 5 aircraft carriers, but two were sold in the early 90s following the collapse of communism.

No we do not operate aircraft carriers, infact we do not have a navy at all since we are a completely landlocked nation.

Our nation runs over 100 Humpback class carriers. They are trimeran (three hulls) type ships with 12 acres of runway and are able to launch all types of aircraft even if they don't have arresting gear.

Waspeaters currently has one aircraft carrier, the RWS Orca. However, our navy is for defensive purposes, so one is really all we need.

Fatatatutti currently has five aircraft carriers with several more building. Each has an air wing of about 100 attack and multi-purpose aircraft. Their role is to extend the reach of the Air Corps in destroying any invasion force that approaches our shores. They are not intended to take the war to the enemy. Thus, they have relatively shorter range and fewer repair facilities than the heavy carriers of most nations.

The UPN operates 4 TianFeng class Aircraft Carriers with plans for building 2 more.

As a small nation, Scotia does not have the resources to operate any aircraft carriers.

Tanvulau currently operates one Clemenceau class aircraft carrier, known as the SS Elipson

Both Navy's (The Space and Colonial one) operate carriers with the the Space Navy operating 5 Leviathan - class super carriers and 25 Reach - class escort carriers. The Naval portion of the Colonial Armed Forces operates 225 carriers with an average of 15 carriers per planet.

Brittanican operates a pair of dual purpose Freedom class light aircraft carriers/assault ships. They are used for coastal operations. However, we lack the resources for larger carriers.

We have a few for projecting power to odd corners of the world where we don't have a significant presence, but we really prefer using airfields that don't sink. Like Iceland.

The Royal Albion Rhodesian Navy operates 11 Aircraft Carriers, with 5 serving with the Atlantic Fleet, while the other 5 serve in the Pacific and 1 carrier tasked assigned to Reserve operations and training.

The Republican Navy operates two Monterrey Class Light Aircraft Carriers, the MGR Monterrey and the MGR Valencia.

The only carrier operated by us is the Dmitri Zakarov, which was sold to us, along with part of its air wing, by India and was then converted to an amphibious assault ship before entering service with our Navy. It can be seen here in early service with our Navy.


The Harriers sold with it were retrofitted with Russian avionics and weapons to improve compatibility with existing weapon stocks and remain in service, while the helicopters it was sold with have been relegated to the National Guard and replaced with the Ka-60.

The Realm maintains a small fleet of 12 diesel fueled ships. Each carries 18 propeller driven aircraft and can operate from unimproved areas over both land and sea at a maximum operational ceiling of 40,000 feet.
