Seriously thou. Have you ever been to SDnet and seen their approach to these things? As in, analyze the living hell out of them and actually construct something that would resemble a working model only to show how ridiculous it is. (like for example that plasma weapon link someone posted the other day) Well I want to do that to the aerogavin.

SDnet's approach is actually more like this:

Poster A: "I don't think the Star Destroyer/Death Star can do this as well as you say tbf because <insert relevant movie scene>."
Poster B's Response: "You're a fucking retard, did you read the entire 50+ pages of this thread before wading in ass first and spewing your shit all over the place? Goddamn moron in <book> they totally <previous example>. Jesus Christ where the fuck do you faggots come from?"

Nitpicker.
Purpelia does not reflect my actual world views. In fact, the vast majority of Purpelian cannon is meant to shock and thus deliberately insane. I just like playing with the idea of a country of madmen utterly convinced that everyone else are the barbarians. So play along or not but don't ever think it's for real.

The above post contains hyperbole, metaphoric language, embellishment and exaggeration. It may also include badly translated figures of speech and misused idioms. Analyze accordingly.

Revised for accuracy.

I just realised no one talks about the Gavin on SDnet.

Still, I really would love to see just how huge the wings need to be to lift a M113. Probably something the size of one of those WW2 era gliders that could carry a jeep inside. Come to think of it, what he describes is basically a powered version of a jeep glider in a sense.

You are missing the point. The point is to create something that starts with the same requirements (Take M113 APC, make it fly with a airborne propulsion system that is detachable and reusable and that requires no extra crew) and design something that while sucking in practice actually achieves those design goals. Than compare it with his proposed solution and laugh.

Also, what was the wingspan on the T-60 + wings there?
Edit: Wiki says 18m. So accounting for a ~100 greater weight and similar size of the two I would say that 22-25m should work for our aerogavin. Make that 30-35 just to be sure.

I'm not missing the point. There isn't one. You want to take something made for the ground. And turn it into a slow attack, low altitude target? Use a armored Attack chopper or throw a M113's gun or 2 on a Sea Crane.

G36 is a good choice, which model though?

Deagle is fucking stupid. I hate that gun. Plus they don't issue sidearms to everyone, just those who need it.

APR? Meh, I'd have three different kinds of rifles, an anti-material, a designated marksman rifle, and a sniper rifle.

ACR? Thats not a bad choice, but you normally give your Special Forces allot of choice and you don't want to hold them up with one kind of rifle.

M240 Now, thats a GPMG like the M60, normally those are in machine gun teams that are deployed on per needed basis. You can't really use the M240 like a Squad Support Weapon like the M249 is made for.

Shottie is useless and would be weight for the machine gunner who should only have his machine gun, a side arm, and a knife/bayonet. Shotties should be issued as a per needed basis.

Why the hell does everyone love the Deagle so much? It looks cool, yeah, but it's so impractical/heavy/trigger-pull-heavy/light on ammo. There's a reason that, to my knowledge, no actual military uses the thing.
