ArghNeedAName wrote:A while ago there was a thread for making diagrams like this to show the composition of your legislative assembly:
These diagrams (Slashme Diagrams) originate from Wikipedia and the script for creating them was programmed by a user called Slashme. Interested in making one yourself?
- Go to this website
- In the text box, type in the code as instructed:
- Party name
- Comma
- Number of seats the party has
- Comma
- The hexidecimal code to show the colour you want the party to be (must have a # in front of it)
- Semi-colon (except at the end)
- Repeat for every other party
For example, the diagram above was created by entering this:
Socialist Party, 34, #660066; Labour Party, 171, #FF0000; Green Party, 69, #00FF00; Christian Democratic Party, 80, #FF9900; Reformist Party, 142, #0000FF; Free Republic Party, 40, #FFFF00; PDV, 64, #999999
Do not enter any speech marks as this messes it up!
Below is a (rather simplified) chart to show the hexidecimal codes for various colours:(Image)- Click Send, then click to load the SVG code, and load of code should appear. Copy it.
- Open up Notepad (or some other simple text editor) and paste in the SVG code.
- Save the code. In the Save dialogue box, change the "Save as Type" to All Files, not Text Document. Name it parliament.svg.
- Now go onto this website or any other that converts SVG images to PNG format.
- Click Browse and select the SVG file you have just saved. Select to convert it to PNG.
- Click Submit and then save the file you produce (there's an option to preview it as well).
- To allow it to be viewed on NationStates, upload it to an image hosting website.
Any problems? Post here. Also, you're welcome to post your created diagrams on this thread!
