With regards to APFSDS ammunition... if the KEP is significantly lolslimmer than the weapon's bore, would that improve performance? Like if I took a 90 or 125mm KEP from a 288mm barrel, as opposed to a 250mm KEP in a 288mm gun barrel?

I know, but most KEP rounds are fired from 120-125mm guns.

I'm thinking about making a loltank with a super-heavy gun. It's meant to be ridiculous, but I feel that a 30mm KEP in a 288mm gun barrel would be ludicrously ridiculous.

Make it fire multiple KEPs, like a shotgun firing flechettes. Fire dozens of KEPs and watch as they randomly hit vehicles and buildings destroying anything. TBH though, an HE shell from a gun that big would blow any tank apart except for a LOLTank, and then you should probably use HEAT if you want to go through a LOL tank, the only problem with range when using HEAT is the drop, it keeps the same penetration at all ranges. You would get about 2 meters of penetration from a copper lined HEAT round.

Upscaled Hellfire missile HEAT warhead adapted for artillery shell, a thermobaric warhead, then a flechette-type multi-KEP shell.

Brawl has been described as "A very pissed off Decepticon...", and also very quiet. As one of the original eight Decepticons to battle with the Autobots on Earth, Brawl was killed by a concerted attack from an Autobot and the humans. Like most of the Decepticons, he was reawakened when the Allspark was destroyed, the flood of energy released that gave him another chance. Unlike most other Decepticons, he was awakened imediately, and was able to escape notice by transforming and posing as a human vehicle. Not very many of them are in the inventory, and only a small portion of those are active, the rest being in Reserve units, but they get the job done.

lol, I liked that reference Kiev.

Anyway, I have a feeling that this is in reference to me, so I may as well throw my two cents in here. About 95% of what I see on these threads coming from FT is generally summed up as: picture, statblock, "wut u think 'bout my wank-tank/air-space fighter/gun/ridiculous weapon?", sometimes going out of their way to make a small write-up that generally explains little to nothing. They then post it these on threads that are commonly used for design critique. It isn't exactly rocket science to connect A to B on this.

Being completely serious, and while you may have done this and I haven't seen it, I don't see you advising any errant FT'ers on what would be better on their 'wank' designs. It's part of NS, that you help out other players where you can. So why not try it?

Yes, I have. A good portion of it was ignored, and the rest was responded to with pretty much "lol, k".

To be honest, FT seems to range from Pseudoscience to pure, full blown wank, with (maybe) a small community of hard-science FT'ers that I assume hides in II and never ventures to F&NI, because I've never seen them here. In fact, this is straight from the FT argument thread:

Best guys I know for hard-science in FT are Feazanthia and Morningstar Coalition (plus Arthopoda Ingens, but I have never seen him actually RP). A lot of the others tend to put the sake of the story first, (not that Feaz and MC don't), but because the sciency part just acts as a basis for them to get on with the fiction. I'll gladly hold my hand up and say that I'm one of the latter most of the time, but trolling every FT'er about it is like going on at people for playing a Slavic or a Capitalist nation. It's going to happen and it's their choice.

Should be noted that my comment is taken slightly out of context in that thread. Generally stating exact numbers in FT on things like power outputs is a bad idea because FT is full of morons who will use them as an excuse to go "oh well your weapons can't hurt me lolol Image"

In all fairness, not all FT roleplayers are like this, but a decent number of them are.

Granted, it's possible to go too far the other way too. It's unreasonable to bag on people for not knowing lots of technical trivia about tanks when it's not exactly something your average person knows about or has much interest in. I'll take somewhat plausible and entertaining over perfect realism any day.

Yes, I do tend to be critical of FT'ers on threads about the technical aspects of things because everything I've seen from FT flies in the face of science and common sense. If an FT'er posts something that isn't Pseudoscience in one of these threads, I wouldn't troll it. However, I don't see that happening...At all.

Another thing, the parallel between trolling FT and Slavic/Captialist nations isn't something I view as an appropriate comparison. Slavic/Capitialist viewpoints are largely ideological and both are arguably beneficial and have had some degree of success in reality. However, posting some Pseudoscience FT weapon in a thread which is commonly used for design critique, is not comparable. From a purely technical standpoint, there's nothing to critique (due to no basis in reality), and not terribly reliant on common sense or basic design principals.

To Axis, you generally don't need to know "lots of technical trivia about tanks". I certianly do not. I'm also equally sure that, from an RPing standpoint, this is not highly necessary in any tech level (though it is nice at times) and I'm sure that most good RP'ers would prioritize a good story of super-ultra realism. In threads like this, though, I don't think it's unreasonable to call out the wankishness of a lot of what is posted (that I've seen) coming out of FT.

The Human Legion mostly uses outdated, rusty GT-2 tanks left over by the former human military.

The Colonial Guard uses "the Friendship Maker", a tank that uses unicorn magic in conjunction with human technology. Its magic shields and enchanted shells make it a worthy adversary for modern human tanks.

All right, let's sort this ruddy argument out once and for all.

Main Battle Tank is a term utilised to describe modern tanks that fulfil a variety of different roles, thus eliminating the need for various tanks to fulfil several roles. Three-quarters of a century ago, the term didn't exist, and neither did the concept; I doubt the concept of main battle tanks would apply to an FT nation's combat doctrine either, let alone that of a nation in a century's time.

This isn't the place for FT RPers, I'm afraid. Make a Main FT Armoured Vehicle of your Nation thread if you like, but this is an MT thread.

Wrong old boy. MBT is simply the tank that is most common in ones military. Really.

The Mark IV is an MBT just as the PzkfIV and the T-72.

The concept of the Universal Tank was pioneered by the commies in the form of the t-34, but otherwise modern MBTs are just heavy tanks.

I would consider modern tanks more like an evolved form of the Medium tank, they are relatively fast, and fill more roles than simple breakthrough.
