Your Nation's Main Battle Tank [Part 2]

I'm going to start doing some drawings of tanks in my notebooks soon, and I need a little clarification. Are we talking main battle tanks, like a M1A1, or your MAIN battle tank.

I'm currently in the process of designing a tank destroyer. Just so I can get a rough idea of what this would be facing, does anyone know what are the most commonly used tanks on NS (including RL designs)?

Disregard guns, acquire ATGMs.
Lighter weight, longer range, and generally higher penetration that any gun-fired shell.

At no point did I say anything about guns; I am planning to use 152mm ATGMs.

Well, from the way it was phrased, it seemed as if you were planning a gun TD.

152mm? Very nice. Though wouldnt that big of a gun slow teh TD Down? As for it being a specalized Tank destroyer...Well they dfont really have a place in modern combat

Your MBT is literally the main tank used by your military so it can span the whole range from very light tanks up to the 70ton MBTs of the western nations as long as you use for that same tank for all tank roles.

its in trying to fill all the tanky roles with a single design that you end up with a 40-70 ton vehicle like we have today.

Floatie tank?

Yup; floatie tank - with influences drawn from Hammer's Slammers except this one uses antigrav instead of the more hard-sci-fi hovercraft engines in the books. I started with trying to make a hull design which was as sloped as possible at the front and then went from there. Right now though I'm unhappy with the turret design and want to go with something with more obvious armour protecting a larger portion of the upper hull. I also want to widen the front armour somewhat to conceal the jet intakes, since right now they're really exposed and, being quite delicate, would be highly vulnerable to even relatively small arms fire which could totally screw up its forward propulsion.

EDIT: I also don't like the current cockpit layout which puts both driver and gunner next to each other inside the hull. By puting one behind the other I can make the tank slimmer or use the extra space for more armour. I'll also design more options for the turret hardpoints like more weapons, a long range comms/sensors array, and some sort of command module. That would have the comms/sensor array and an extra machine gun linked together with (just) enough extra space for a third crew member (the squadron commander) and would basically resemble an extra turret stuck on top of the main one with a radar dome on top of that.

Well, from the way it was phrased, it seemed as if you were planning a gun TD.
So...basically the Kornet ATGM?

Now that I look back, I see how you could read it like that.
I envisage the missile being a top-attack ATGM somewhere in-between a LAHAT and a Kornet (it would be roughly a meter long, have an MV of about 300m/s and penetrate about 1000-1100mm of RHA). What would be a reasonable price for something like this?
The tank destroyer would be based on the hull of the Yugoslavian M-84 tank and would be used to attack MBTs from long range and could also support infantry (it would have a 38mm autocannon and a GPMG or two to give it versatility). The standard M-84 armour would be sufficient considering its role and it would be quite cheap (hopefully less than 1 million USD).
Does this sound plausible?

Stormlord makes me sad. It looks so cool, but in practice it is the most underwhelming tank ever. I just go for the Doomhammer, it can carry a tiny platoon and its gun doesn't disappoint.

Of course yes! The Storm Lord is mainly used for Urban combats! But the standard Baneblade is the Main heavy Tank because its multipurpose main cannon, but that don't means that we don't have another tanks, like Leman Ruse and mechs like this one, that are very comon in our Police departament:

Either that or its stupidly under armoured, has a very limited ammo laod, is so cramped you have to change the crews evey 4 hours and dangerously is unstable when it fires.
