Nah. In the 41st millennium the MBTs fire 155mm rounds, if not larger: and that's one of (if not the) most powerful, and balanced, Super-Heavy Tanks in existence (that time period). That bitch probably has armour made of something which will shrug off the 280mm nuke shell.

3x twin linked Bolters (effectively two Mk19s duct-taped together)

They generally end up entirely focused on slapping the hell out of their direct counterparts, then offering support when their own enemies are gone.

Lighter weight, longer range, and generally higher penetration that any gun-fired shell.
