We suggest that "everyone" get a new Standard Educational Data Pack then - one with modern information that indicates that with the proper therapy, brain tissue can indeed be regenerated. Not only that, brain cells do indeed regenerate, albeit at a very slow rate, even without modifications.

Since you have been able to modify yourselves to live to 280, we are quite surprised that you have not mastered the art of keeping your wetware functioning as long as you want it to.

IRL therapy to this end isn't all that far off, if it's not happening already. Here's a 1999 study showing that new neurons are indeed constantly produced by the unmodified primate brain.

And here's an article about making new human neurons from skin cells, with the intention of transplanting the neurons into people with degenerative brain diseases. Of course, since it's IRL, the technology is still in the preliminary stages - but it shows that a jelly brain would certainly not be an inevitable result of a highly advanced age.
