Almost always two parents, usually male and female but there are several same sex marraiges in Alexlantis. Occasionally, a person with several spouses can be found, but this is very rare.

Korintari families often consist of around 2-3 fathers and 2-3 mothers with 7-18 children typically. Family is held in high regard with the patriarchs and matriarchs having significant amounts of influence. Due to practicalities, this is more common place in rural Korintar than urban. There is a high degree of racial and gender equity, however that does not extend to orientation or identity (GLBT). Concensus is valued in decision making, however challenging said concensus is regarded as equally important so decision making takes a while sometimes. In terms of loyalties, immediate family comes first, followed by extended family, friends, commune, communal government, province/dominion, governments of said groups, Korintar, the government of the Free Democracy, individual/self. In that order. Lastly, class distinctions are not particularly valued or respected, though people's unique talents and gifts are respected and admired. This leads to intellectual elitism and a certain disrespect for authority. Despite this percieved disrespect, the average Korintari is very religious and adheres to the strictures of their chosen faith (frequently Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) closely.

In order to understand our society, one must understand that we are empaths.
If anyone is unhappy, neglected or hurt, other citizens must help them, or feel it themselves. Thus, we are compelled to aid one another, avoiding the problems often inherent in loose systems.

We do not operate under any systems of monogamy. Children are raised by their mothers, with aid from everyone else in the community; it's common for a child to only know their father by name (to avoid half-sibling... issues), and it is also common for a woman's current lover to cheerfully help with her child even though it's not his own. We care a great deal for each other, and so those that have more, through some success of employment or inheritance from their mother (men can choose to either direct inheritance to some children who they've had a hand in raising and are therefore fond of, or allow their inheritance to be given to the government and thereby spread amongst the people wherever needed) ... those that have more share with those that do not.

And then we party again, and celebrate mass joy.
