It probably rarely is, and if it is, it's usually as a dystopian nightmare.
which is a bit accuarate
The Triumvirate is set in an alternate universe where the CSA won the American Civil War, causing the United States to fragment into small republics and dictatorships.

The Colombian Triumvirate controls Maryland, Delaware, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia.

We're seen as brave rebels for shrugging off the tyrannies of the UK government, constantly beleaguered by war and sanctions. Towns are typically depicted as war-torn, and farmlands turned to mulch by artillery. Tank wrecks dot the landscape. Citizens are typically war veterans, even the children, who sport thousand-yard stares. Even so, they're portrayed as honest folk, if backwards thinking and slightly racist.

Still, it could be worse. You should see how they depict Wolverhampton.

An over-the-top cyberpunk corporate dystopia, a la Mirrors Edge, alternatively a nuclear armed rogue nation under the iron rule of a violent psychopathic warlord.

Federation of Mankind which has by far the most developed gaming culture naturally depicts the Imperium as the villains in their video games and sims, seeing how both nations are sworn enemies in real life. Sidh sim developers obviously return the favour for the same reason.

We're almost always portrayed as the villains. They tend to focus on the communist iconography and our massive military parades, with legions of over-sexualized female soldiers. (Dosan's military, in reality, has an almost 50/50 gender split, due to our conscription policies... but the foreign media likes to ignore that fact and stick with the more stereotypical view of our military.)

History month! It's 1989, and Dosan is in the midst of its Golden Age under the leadership of Kyo Sung-Min.
This nation is just for fun and definitely does not reflect my real political views in any way.

A mysterious thriving northern authoritrian country. FPS scenes would usually be a train station, exclusive to masses of government officals, or some beautiful natual parks with odd-looking subspecies of our national animal which wander around and distract the player
If in Japanese-style visual novel, you will probably meet a schoolgirl prominent for being childish and politically idealistic, while the protagonist is either a ordinary student from working class or a "systematized" member of school's branch of Student Trade Union(for that acquiring knowledge is intellectual labour) or Communist Youth League

We are normally portrayed as the faithful sidekicks of the Osean Protagonists (sure, we keep the idiots from killing us all), insidious morally bankrupt shadowy figures that “help” the player, or a Cabal of evil rich people.

We're rarely portrayed at all, but in the few times we made an appearance the real bad guys, the masterminds behind everything bad that had happened so far, just happened to be extremely patriotic Picentines with paranoid disorders.
Stuff I like: socialism, Marxism, Marxism-Leninism, democratic confederalism, Third International Theory, Iranian countries, Armenia, Greece, Albania, federalization of Italy, one state solution in Israel/Palestine/whatever, gun rights, late Roman religious syncretism, Catholicism, feminism

Stuff I don't like: US, EU, UK, Turkey, liberalism, conservatism, traditionalism, transexuals, cosmopolitanism, neofascism, anti-Zionism, anti-Palestinism, anti-Jewish/Catholic/Muslim sentiment, really most strains of Protestantism, Hinduism, atheists and anti-theists, extremist forms of nationalism, MRAs

Usually represented by a mustachioed man wearing a fez, jackboots and an elaborate uniform, the Hamidi Imperium is portrayed as a somewhat backward and repressive state populated by downtrodden peasants ruled by a military junta and the "big bad", the Sultan. His Imperial Majesty usually (when persiflaged on screen) has underlings shot for failure, has subjects and the foreign hero tortured, and generally is behind everything evil happening in the world. His plots are thwarthed by the hero however, leaving him angry in his palace.

We were almost definitely the setting for an Assassin's Creed game at some point.
A civilization with an over 3,000 year history of lizard people killing each other and enslaving everyone else. Now they've finally calmed down and formed a modern westernized constitutional monarchy. (long live Emperor Yoshio!)
