What your riot police look like?
What equipment do they use?
In the MSA, we do not have riot police, because we do not have riots. Our citizens are pacifistic.

Saurisian Riot Police basically look like this. Normally, they are equipped with bullet proof armor, including Kevlar vests and helmets, as well as riot shields. They also use tasers, nightsticks, pepper spray, and both regular firearms and riot guns that fire such projectiles as tear gas, rubber bullets, etc.

If a situation gets too violent, however, the Riot Police use actual bullets for their firearms, which tend to be M4 carbine, M416, M16, G36, StG-44, or M2 assault rifles and P229, M1911, USP, Glock, or Luger pistols (the weapons depending on the department).

Riot Control Teams, usually just shortened to RiCo by PSICOM, lack the iconic armor that others within the Public Security and Intelligence Command utilize. Instead, they use something like this:

Image

Their armament often includes energy based non-lethal weapons, rubber bullets, "Net Cannons", non-lethal irritating chemicals, and Tazer batons.

Only in extreme cases would PSICOM be allowed to employ lethal force on our populace.

Riot control, huh? Well, my nation's policies and and enactments of conduct, equipment, and tactics could fill volumes. This is just for a small, generaly non-violent riot. But, to give you a quick run-down:

RIOT CONTROL PROCEDURES

Equipment

-Helmet with a built-in face shield
    -Body Armor
    -Large Body Shield
    -Gasmask and Goggles
    -36" Baton
    -Non-lethal Rounds*
    -40mm Grenade-launcher (single ot multi-launcher)
    -Optional: Dogs
*Blunt force rounds; stinger rounds; pepperball rounds; aerosol grenades; ferret rounds; dye rounds; and gas rounds

Prevention of a Riot

    1. Have crowd management ensure a riot does not start in the first place.
    2. Set up ground rules for the protesters to follow, designate a specific area for the event to occur at.
    3. Assign trained* officers to monitor the event

*Officers are to be trained to have an unbiased attitude and need to be seen as being in charge and in control at all times

Conflict

If the crowd becomes unruly then officers will adopt a more aggressive behavior and attitude.

    1. Simple intimidation, stand in strict formations and act with military precision. Tap shields with bations in unison.
    2. Do not try to arrest every rioter, only leaders of the riot and direct criminials.
    3. If in conflict, disperse the crowd, do not pin the crowd down, try to make them run away.

Conclusion

Well, that was a very simple explanation of generally non-violent riots. When they get worse we have other, more strict punishments and tactics.

Although Police do exist in Zonolia, 'riot police' do not due to the fact unlike other nations Zonolia sees riots as the government ignoring the people...if a riot does happen it goes straight to the National Assembly as a case to be reviewed and voted on.

There is no dedicated riot force in the Lexington Islands as riots are rather uncommon but if one were to break out soldiers of the Conscripted Force would be deployed to maintain the peace often resulting in a quick but sometimes bloody dispersal of rioters.

They look like this. Generally, they are equipped with bullet proof armour, taser, nightsticks, pepper spray, and both regular firearms and riot guns that fire such projectiles as tear gas, rubber bullets, etc. and including Kevlar vests and helmets, as well as riot shields. They're also equipped with military-grade weapons and state-of-the-art tools to help disperse riots should things spiral out of control. However, should the situation where police cannot handle, an army unit from the nearby Base is being dispatched to assist quelling the riots.

Riot police in Costa Fiero look like this and are controlled by the Policia Nacional because they enforce law and order, whereas the more miltaristic Brigada Militar provide security in the cities and some law enforcement functions in rural areas.

Generally speaking, riot police are armed with riot shields, batons, tasers etc. for handling most cases. However, in more extreme cases, firearms are employed which can fire either rubber bullets or bean bags. These weapons are usually shotguns and launchers for tear gas are also widely employed. The officers themselves are protected with kevlar body padding (suited for the tropical climate) and kelvar helmets with perspex visors.

In Eshel, we do not like to spend human resources on such cases, we send out the civil guard being armed with what ever they can find and no special equipment (unlike most of the riot control units) most of the riots end up with many casualties on both sides.

depending on the situation the gwrachbyd riot police equipment varies but generally speaking they are kitted out in ballistic armour (a slightly lower grade version of the gwrachbyd tactical body armour) and carry shields made of bullet resistant resin.

weapons used range from light sub machine guns with an underslung 22mm grenade launcher generally firing specialised rounds such as rubber bullets, zap rounds (9mm ball round designed to hook into the skin before bouncing back and swinging via a teather cable and hooking into the body lower down and delivering an electrical discharge to incompacitate a target for a short period of time) and occasionally live rounds for situations where they may be dealing with armed gangs and where taking lives is prefrable and likly to result in less friendly or innocent casuilties.
the 22mm grenade launcher can also equip a wide range of rounds including tear gas (and other less than lethal chemical agents) rubber/bean bag rounds. canister (buckshot) door breachers. high explosive, and the batton round (a smart fusing less than lethal rubber bullet round)

other weapons often used include
stun prods (basically cattle prods)
water cannons
directed energy weapons these range from vehicle and man portable weapons including electrolasers, LED incompacitators, net guns, R.I.P shotgun shells, tazers (based off the russian clip fed stun-wire system) water cannons vehicle based acoustic weapons and even sonic grenades (basically small battery powered emiters designed to release high intensity soundwaves to incompaciate targets for the duration of their effect)

The riot police of the TBRE are armed with shields, batons and high-density sprays of some sort. Some have fire extinguishers as well, and are protected by a combination of Kevlar plates. They may also carry guns strapped to their thighs. A helmet and full-on visor is also used. The riot police have access to various armored vehicles and water gun carrier.
Their severity of actions on crowd control are determined by the standard police regulations, police brutality being very rare over here. Nevertheless, they are encouraged to think outside the box to find a peaceful solution to the matter.
Luckily, they're not called into action very often.

The PROR is prone to riots, therefore a heavily funded riot police is needed. Here's a sample of our Riot Police outfit.

Image

The Riot Police's outfits are immune to most kinds of noxious gasses and smoke. It has a radio in the helmet so each individual can communicate with each other. The outfit is made up of metal, plastic, and other similar materials. Riot Police generally carry an MP5K or SPAS-12 with a police baton, but will only use beanbag rounds until the riot gets extremely out of control.
Colonies of the PROR:

Luna Praetoria
Blackweather (independent)
Conshockton (independent)
New Springs (independent)
Stonewater (independent)
Saint Nova (independent)
Snowpoint
City-states of the PROR:
Kravchenkograd
Dimitrigrad

The PROR is a non-Communist people's republic.

Every regional command of the Royal Security Police has a "Counter-Riot Squadron" which is responsible for riot control as the name implies. These officers and enlisted men are reqularly rotated out into other sections of the RSP. During riot situations, they are outfitted in the usual manner with riot shields, protective helmets, batons, and a variety of less-than-lethal chemical ordinance. Under no circumstances are they ever equipped with firearms or tasers during exercises or actual riots. To do so is a court martial offense.

Riot units of county and local police forces operate in an identical manner.

Riots, while never a common occurrence in Nuclear Fission, would generally be handled by the Automated Police Force of Nuclear Fission. Because large riots ultimately endanger the entire station as a whole, for inherent risk of damaging life support systems and the like, they would likely be responded to with deadly force. However, if security officials feel otherwise, less deadly countermeasures will be taken.
