Secularism, being the basis for any modern enlightened society, is a fundamental principle of the Voronda constitution. Being religious is seen as something like a mental illness, similar to mental retardation and fundamentalists (the few that are left) are usually threatened with arrest and commitment to a mental institution. Religious institutions are taxed as business ventures and require a license by the People's Commissariat for Economic Planning which is very hard to come by. The last greater trouble we had in that regard was the arrest of a group of "missionaries" who were molesting innocent citizens with their idiotic ideology. They were arrested and expulsed from the nation.

There is no state religion here, as the government believes that being secular will help them serve the people better.
But Buddhism is the largest religion here.

The closest thing we have is widespread deism. Total secularism quite frankly makes no sense to the people of Faolinn. There aren't even any agnostics here.

Most of us don't believe in deities because we don't need to. We know they exist, and we know that most of them don't really care what we do with our lives so long as we pay them the proper, ahem, respects when they're supposed to be looking this way. We're all pretty secular, apart from a few psycho groups that like to make up their own gods and use them as a basis for their psychopathic philosophies.

No offence meant, of course, to the theists out there. You haven't met your gods, so it makes more sense that you believe in them. And it makes more sense that you believe they want you to do good. Don't let my infallibly factual assertions from personal experience and experiential consensus dissuade you.

Secularism is an essential tenement of political structure in Tulija. No religious beliefs are allowed to come into best running the country; as such the prevalent attitude in Tulija is one of Agnosticism or Atheism (freedom of religion is of course allowed, with the bias toward secularism enforced only in government).
Look up my Factbook, it's snazzy

Tulija is a Great Power, renowned for its liberal culture and technocratic governance. It is a world leader in several areas (education, social mobility, HDI, GDP, lack of corruption, public services, technology, secularism etc.) and maintains an excellently equipped and trained military. Regularly topping lists of most desirable locations to live in, its freedoms and economic success are largely unparalleled. Internationally, its foreign policy holds substantial sway. There is official religion in Saurisia, though the largest religions are both Saurism and Drakonism. Of course, only the government is largely secular since a good chunk of the population follows one religion or another.

We have no established official doctrine of faith. President William Jones and the Marxist Socialist faction are wary of religion. They are kept under strict watch as the MarSo faction believes religion is damaging to humanity. All Churches are now places of culture (The wishes of the Stalinist faction), but they can be arranged for certain religious occasions.

The state is officially barred from establishing a state-sponsored religious organization of any kind. At the same time, interference in church affairs is forbidden. They must leave it be, even if somebody else doesn't like it.

Now, most of us here in the United States are Christians. Including the political leaders. We laugh at Marxists and such who are "offended" by a God whom they don't even believe is real.

The People's Republic of Gridea goes under a free religion policy. It is not the government's place to decide what should be believed. It is socially acceptable to celebrate your religion; however, it is unacceptable to try recruiting someone into religion. It is all individual choice.

We're secular in the sense that there is complete religious freedom and separation of church and state. However non-religious people make up only roughly 10% of our population and are Deists, Agnostics, and Atheists in descending order.

Our religion is based around quite a loose collection of beliefs and practices that stem from a shared mythology. The vast, vast majority of people support it, various religious days are taken off as national holidays, sections of various religious laws are present in national law... we are by no means a secular society, and are better off for it we feel.
