We also allow some Free Market Trade of Public and Foreign Corporations in the capital and several major cities. Over 26.1% of GDP is the result of Government Spending (Education, Healthcare, Social Welfare, Law/Order, Defense), 22% is the result of state owned corporations (which report directly to the government, but have more freedom in terms of business practices), the remaining are all privately owned businesses.
Power and Water are heavily subsidized by the government and free in most areas of the country. 67% of all food consumed in the country is locally grown, processed, etc. Although the government has refrained from nationalizing or operating state corporations in agriculture, it retains monopolies on several of the nation's other critical industries.
The largely export driven economy is dominated by its Mining sector, and followed closely by Heavy Manufacturing and Information Technology.

History:
Our earliest descendants arrived in our current lands about 700 years ago. They were explorers and other African settlers fleeing poverty, war, and famine. A series of tribal kingdoms developed, and the life on the continent was relatively peaceful.
But soon countless tribes of Africans fled their homelands to escape the horrors of slavery during the 15th, 16th, and so on centuries they brought disputes and rivalries with them. A series of wars threw the land into a dark age.
European explorers found the continent and seeing the opportunity, they invaded. A kingdom of Yoruba descendants, lead by King T'Chaka, managed to unite the tribes against the Europeans, repelling the invasion. Since that time, the Kingdoms followed a policy of strict isolationism until the Avarice War.
King T'Chaka, our leader, then was faced with a decision. He could either attempt to rule Groko as its Emperor, our set up a democracy.
He chose the latter, and met with the six other kings who controlled the land they called Groko. They stepped down in 1765, leaving the Wa'bunga in charge of Grokoan Affairs. The Wa'bunga was a grand council of tribal and village elders (two from each kingdom) and elected officials from across the united kingdoms. However, just days after they abdicated power a dispute erupted and the Wa'bunga was bombed. Chaos erupted as royalists launched a campaign to restore the Monarchy against King T'Chaka's wishes. Nearly all of the royals, including King T'Chaka and most of his family, were killed in the following fighting. In order to bring peace to the continent, it was decided that the King T'Chaka's son would become a constitutional monarch, ruling in tandem with the Wa'bunga.
The Wa'bunga maintained control over most of the government functions, with the exception of a contingent of royalist soldiers (these would become the modern day Dora Milaje), and recongized the authority of the monarch to call for elections and disband the Wa'bunga in times of deadlock or potential duress. Soon after, peace was declared throughout the land.

The Grokoan Military has 4 Main Branches. Each Branch has their own elite division comprised of their best officers.

During peacetime, around .2 percent of the population serves active duty. These men and women serve in each kingdom's guard. The largest kingdom has about 12,000 soldiers, while the smallest has about 4000. These soldiers are trained elite, rapid response soldiers entrusted with the responsibility of the protection of each of their kingdoms from invasion,riots,or whatever the people of that kingdom require military service for. They are placed under the command of the Kingdom's Second Monarch, which is an elected position similar to a governor in other nations.

Each Kingdom holds a minimum of fourteen seats in the Grokoan Senate (numbers vary depending on population size)

There are seven kingdoms that comprise the United Kingdoms, each maintaining their respective borders as of 1765. Each Kingdom is free to make their own laws except where jurisdiction is given to the First Monarch or the Wa'bunga. They are each run by elected governments (with the exception of Niganda). They are Akanda, Jabari, Niganda , Butu, Azania, Canaan, and Narobia.
Main National Holiday is Freedom Day -March 9th (Day Groko fought off Europeans)
Government is mostly centralized, but each kingdom can elect governors and mayors for towns and cities.
Head of Wa'bunga: Speaker M'Axel Tafari (Chosen from former Senators by the People)
Head of State: First Monarch Tiberius II
The head of the Wa'bunga is known as the Speaker. Each kingdom has elections for representatives to the Wa'bunga (268 Seats). The Wa'bunga then brings forth a list of proposed Speakers, and they are in turn elected by the people. Each major ministry of the government has its leader appointed by the Speaker.

Citizenship requirements
To be a citizen of Groko, you must pass through customs. Customs will issue a series of tests:
-Background test (to insure your not a spy, or murder or something)
-Medical Test (to insure your not bringing a plague to Groko)
-Personal Test (Basically a series of x-rays, and searches to insure your not caring a weapon or bomb.)
-Endurance Test ( You are given a brief overview of our country, and get to ask questions. If you still want to be a citizen at the end, you pass)
-Test Test (They must live in the country, and find a tax-able source of income during the 5 month period. If they fail to do so, they lose their citizenship.)
After you complete the above, you are issued your Citizen ID Card and number. All immigrants have a 5 month probation period before they gain full citizen ship. If they break any law, they may lose their citizenship.
