It is often said in recruiting materials that Imota's greatest weapons are the brains, strength, and dedication of the Imotan soldier, sailor, and airman. That said, we do maintain stockpiles of nuclear, biological, chemical, and radiological weapons, capable of being deployed by ballistic or cruise missiles, bombs, ground troops, or saboteurs. We're also working out the kinks in our railgun project, and expect to have a limited number online shortly.

In this way, organizations such as La Cosa Nostra, the Yakuza, 'Ndrangheta, and others act as Distruzios "superweapon." They strike anywhere, anyway, and with precision against the very individuals affronting the Kings honor. Collateral damage from warfare with Distruzio is therefore all but eliminated as there are no bombs, armies, or economic sanctions instituted against the public of foreign nations. Only swift, precise, and violent retribution.

Except I believe the only weapons in history to ever actually accomplish this were the two atomic bombs employed to end WWII - and it wasn't long before the Soviets had them, too, resulting not in a decisive advantage, but the two nuclear superpowers staring each other down in the Mexican standoff of MAD, and the Cold War, because no one was quite insane enough to risk it becoming hot.

More typically, "superweapons" are ridiculous boondoggles that don't work as advertised, don't do anything that more conventional weapons couldn't do, usually better and cheaper, and/or don't serve any real purpose other than penis-waving.

The Germans in WWII loved them some superweapons - jet fighters, ballistic missiles, ginormous unstoppable tanks, guns that needed to be transported on special railroad tracks - and that's why the entire world is suffering under the yoke of the Third Reich today, right? ... right?

Well there was the gigaton project which did actually detoante the worlds first weapon of kind of yeild, the 30" vertical gun systems installed close to many of our major ports, The Kessler Initiator, the JMOBs and the Doujins.

Avoiding straying into the realms of the mil-wank, it's probably one class of chemical weapon or another. Biological weapons linger annoyingly, and nuclear weapons destroy infrastructure. A few applications of VX gas and mopping up by properly-equipped forces, and an area is captured more-or-less intact.

Glaswegistan maintains a nuclear stockpile of 15'000 nuclear weapons, with the guiding policy behind their deployment being the deployment of lower yield nuclear weapons through the use of saboteurs and in a worst case scenario; terrorist groups (Although "Worst Case Scenario" is incredibly loosely defined, and as such the deployment of nuclear weapons in any capacity is regarded as being the worst case scenario, the supplyment of nuclear weapons to third party associates is considered to be a theoretical "Unthinkable" scenario, that lies beyond an actual worst case scenario. As such, neither deployment is liable to happen barring an actual nuclear war). Other methods of delivery include: Silo launched nuclear missiles (Current stockpile of Nuclear ICBM's sitting at about 2000 nuclear missiles), Submarine launched missiles (Shorter ranged, submarine-nuke stockpile sitting at about 54 weapons) and aircraft-deployed guided bombs (Aircraft nuke stockpile sitting at about 1200 bombs).

It should be noted that due to the stigma surrounding nuclear weapons, Nuclear weapons are not the primary type of WMD developed, stockpiled and (theoretically) deployed by Glaswegistan (again; theoretically). Bioweapons are far more stockpiled and researched due to the perception that a global pandemic would be slightly easier to recover from than the planets atmosphere being obliterated, and chemical weapons are still developed although all chemical WMD's are geared towards a principle of non-lethal chemicals, and causative agents are rarely seen.

Glaswegistan is theoretically capable of towing asteroids into orbit and dropping them into the atmosphere, but this would be expensive and is considered to be comparable to nuclear weapons in terms of damage and the fear surrounding the deployment of such weapons. Finally; the "absolute rock bottom unthinkable biosphere obliterating we don't want to do this" scenario for the deployment of WMD's is the deployment of toxic agents into major rivers (The Rhine, the Colorado, etc), although this is, along with the deployment of nukes, is a fantasy only dreamed of by the most insane military analysts in the country.

OOC: 15,000 nuclear weapons? That's highly unrealistic.

Now, back in character:

The Star Empire is known to be in possession of hundreds of nuclear warheads and is developing the Sun Crusher, a massive machine capable of destroying a star and creating a supernova. Of course, even the military officials would hate to do such a thing.

Even though we have far more WMDs than that, the data on this subject that can be released to the public is limited.
