Military of the Kalmar Union

United Scandinavian Navy

The United Scandinavian Navy (Förenade Skandinavisk Marinen) was formed by the 3245 Treaty of Karlskrona and replaced the Swedish, Danish and Norwegian navies, becoming the Kalmar Union's sole spaceborne military service. The prefix 'HMS', short for Hans/Hennes Majestäts Skepp (His/Her Majesty's Ship) is given to ships of the Scandinavian Navy, but in English the prefix 'HNoMS' for 'His Nordic Majesty's Ship' is often used instead to avoid confusion with the ships of the British Royal Navy.

The 1. class torpedo boat is the standard torpedo boat used by the United Scandinavian Navy. The Kalmar Union is somewhat less callous with the lives of it's torpedo boat crews than most states, and so tthe 1. class is notable for being considerably better defended than most torpedo boats; nonetheless, they rarely last long in battle- merely long enough to lauch their devestating attacks.

National Anthem

United forever by fealty and honour,
Our mighty empire will ever endure.
The Great Kalmar Union will live through the ages.
The dream of a people their fortress secure.

Long live our Scandinavia,
Protected by the King's mighty hand.
Long live our peoples, united and free.
Strong in our friendship tried by fire.
Long may our great nation inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see.

Through days dark and stormy where our King shall lead us
We shall remember the bright sun of freedom above
And our great sovereign with the faith of the people,
Inspires us to build up the land that we love.

Long live our Scandinavia,
Protected by the King's mighty hand.
Long live our peoples, united and free.
Strong in our friendship tried by fire.
Long may our great nation inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see.

We fight for the True Faith, threatened by the papists,
And bring to our homeland the age of great power.
Our glory will live in the memory of nations
And all generations will honour her name.

Long live our Scandinavia,
Protected by the King's mighty hand.
Long live our peoples, united and free.
Strong in our friendship tried by fire.
Long may our great nation inspire,
Shining in glory for all men to see.
