The popular forms of music here are very eclectic and range from folk to techno to punk rock. Also, the various forms of metal have a very special place in Winnish culture.

Light party music, disco music and classical music are all-time favourites, metal popularity has also been on the rise for the last ten years or so and the Herd actually has a quite large and popular established metal scene today.

Among the younger people, Russian language pop and some of the more mainstream forms of metal are the most popular. Electronic music never really caught on and rap and hip hop are more or less outlawed by the government. There are also decently sized death metal and black metal scenes. Older people generally listen to classic Western rock and older Soviet and Russian rock.

Though music is no longer illegal in Constarus, it is still restricted and some still frown upon listening to it.

We don't allow any music that is counter-culture, nor do we allow anything with either obscene or pro-communist lyrics. In addition, anything in a language other than Russian or English isn't allowed.

That said, big band and 80's love songs are popular among adults, and synthpop and techno are popular among teenagers.
