The City-State appreciates the friendship that the City-State enjoys with Seculartopia and would certainly agree to solidifying a comprehensive plan to import bottled water to the nation to help solve the water shortages that have plagued the nation. We're also interested in desalination plants and would appreciate any help in developing them so that we can tap into the vast water sources surrounding us.

We've been eying land reclamation for some time now, but we're at a crossroads in regards to starting projects because we do not yet know what to do about the wildlife in the areas most suitable for such projects. Embassy Row is just two blocks from Tsvarchi beach, and I have forwarded your request for a docking post. The West 32400th street subway station can take you right to the beach, but it is also in walking distance - which we would suggest.

The ambassador's son, being 12 years old, is only one year shy of being considered an adult under Maraquean law, which means he will no longer require parental supervision or permission to consume or purchase alcohol, use recreational drugs, operate a motor vehicle, sign a contract, etc. If a child is found to be doing any of the aforementioned things without parental supervision or permission the parent(s) may be held liable and fined, and the child may be sentenced to a stint in a rehabilitation center (dependent upon the offense), but being the son of an ambassador grants him immunity to all of the aforementioned offenses. Just be mindful of the "common knowledge" laws and all should be well.

In regards to your inquiries:

We would actually encourage the use of bicycles and mass transit. Traffic in the City-State is horrendous and you won't be getting anywhere in a timely manner using private transportation. The subway, bicycling or walking are the fastest ways to travel in the City-State.

Walking barefoot is fine, but we'd discourage it because the ground is fairly hot because of the harsh sun beating down on it all day. Sandals or flip flops are fairly commonplace in the City-State for this reason.

There are no dress codes - the concept of formal and informal dress is quite foreign to Maraqueans, and in fact nudism is quite common in the City-State with a very large segment of the population at least part-time nudist.

Taking a dip in a canal or fountain isn't taboo - Maraqueans are water lovers and take any opportunity to take a dip in almost any water source - within reason, of course. There aren't any serious health concerns, but as always it's a good idea to rinse off after taking a dip in a non-traditional water source such as the ocean, lake, canal, etc with fresh water.
