Your Nations Marketplace

Postby Seculartopia » Sat Sep 12, 2009 7:46 am

What is your nations main source of domestic trade? A supermarket, or Street Vendors?
Independent specialty stores? Small Grocers?

Also Provide pictures if possible.

Seculartopia gets its food from street vendors, but there are a few small grocers.

All was dark when the armies surrounded the town. There was little bloodshed as they swept in, and they quickly took control. "Success," said a communicator, "a base has been established."

OOC:There. Now, we'll wait for UK to catch up.

Batzoria is mainly supplied by numerous bazaars, but there are a few supermarkets for those in a hurry.

Jalanat's economy is slowly climbing back up after an enormous rescession. bigger malls are now far more common in Jalanat than 5 years ago when there were mostly street vendors and market stalls on the big streets.

a great example would be the Shinsun City Mall, a mall built on a place which was previously a popular place for market stalls and street vendors.

My nation is not like my nation page at all, it contradicts itself, we don't EVER eat kangaroos, that's just very sad. Also vegetarianism is compulsory yet it still says it's the nation's favourite main course and all and stuff.

Most people shop in the large mall centers in their workplaces compound. For closer and more local shops, there are an abundance of outdoor grocers right inside residential centers.

It's a mix. In most cities it's usually accompanied by a large market that has a variety of stores (like a mall) in the center with many street vendors surrounding it. Along with a statue of some historical value. But on the rural areas dirt roads are lined with many street vendors and traveling merchant caravans. Suburban areas have smaller market complexes but mostly the same as city mall complex

All though the economy is heading downwards so malls are becoming a rare sight.

Street vendors sell everything from fast foods to fireworks. A lot of fresh produce is sold from semi-permanent market stalls. Ethnic foods are available in small grocery stores.

There are also some large retail chains like Safeway, Small-Mart and Fatatatutian Tire. One of the most successful convenience stores is When-It's-Unlocked-We're-Open (WIUWO), commonly known as Woo-Woo.
