It's left up to the parents, but sex is officially banned in Acivica, because we are civilized people in this little nation.

Liberal, comprehensive sexual education starts in Year 6, with other sessions in Years 9 and 11. However, the state recommends parents explain to their children the basics earlier than this.
Look up my Factbook, it's snazzy

It's up to the family to discuss this matter and educate their offspring on terms with this.
Up to them when they teach it, though.

Education in Eahland is always a complicated subject, even when hot-button issues like sex aren't involved. The relevant complication here is that we have no cynerice-funded educational system, and the cynerice doesn't presume to control what schools not funded by cynerice gold teach. And the schools we do have come in a vast and bewildering variety, and with attitudes towards sex education that can range from, "Don't do it; you'll get pregnant, catch a disease, ruin your life, die, and go to Hell," to accurate and comprehensive information, depending on the funding individual or organization and its moral stance and agenda.

We do provide mandatory comprehensive and realistic practical sex education as part of our basic military training. Many of those mustering with the fyrd as new adults do so to fulfill their fyrdnoþ with actual service, because they can't afford to buy it off, and many of those, for similar reasons, went through free schooling - which usually (though not always) means Church schooling - and didn't get much in the way of actually useful information.

So we get a lot of new fyrd entering basic training as teenagers just coming into the flower of adulthood, getting whipped into the best physical shape they've been in in their lives, crammed into close living conditions in integrated units, with other young adults just into the flower of adulthood and in peak physical condition, put under a lot of physical and emotional stress, and encouraged to form bonds with their shoulder-companions - at least some of whom, again, are likely to be of compatible sex and orientation. And then frequently shipped off to exotic places where you can get a whore to do just about anything for a couple of scillingas. And a lot of them know, for all practical purposes, nothing.

So we consider it in our best interests to make sure our fighting-men have been educated in the physical and emotional risks involved in being sexually active. Wifmenn in combat zones - and basic training qualifies - are required to have no-intervention-required birth control active (and the Church periodically complains about that, but the heahbiscop isn't the one that would have to deal with a fyrdmann too pregnant to fit in her tank), but that doesn't protect against disease, and we make sure to hammer that into their heads, because about the only thing we need less than a fyrdmann too pregnant to fit into her tank is a fyrdmann dying of an incurable disease picked up from a two-scilling whore on leave.

(There's the old gag about the fyrdmann who returns to civilian life after some years of honorable service, meets a nice wifmann and marries her, and after a few years, she starts hinting that maybe they should start thinking about children. He agrees in principle, but he's evasive about actually getting the project going, and when she finally gets fed up and confronts him about it, he looks around nervously and blurts, "Children would be great, hon, but we can't have sex without a condom! The Þegn would kill me!")

It depends entirely on the institution. As all schools are privately owned, the state has no say in the curriculum of the education system.

New Edom has comprehensive sex education, but it only teaches about homosexual practices as a form of sexual practice that is aberrant and sinful. Contraception is warned as being not necessarily effective; abstinence is the only guaranteed way to avoid pregnancy or STDs.

Teenagers learn the biological part in school, but just because it's part of the human anatomy. They learn nothing about contraception & stuff. Most parents are wise enough to teach their children abstinence.

Basics of biology, including mammalian reproduction, are part of the neuro-interactive simulation programs that educate young Sidhae while they still grow in progenitory tanks. Upon awakening, a Sidh is fully biologically and mentally capable of sexual activity, as well as having a fairly good grasp on it's practical aspects (neuro-sims also providing a chance to engage in virtual sex as a form of practice for the real thing).

Since Sidhae are unable to produce children themselves, and are immune to all but the most tenacious pathogens, contraception or STD protection aren't covered much more than that they exist.

When it comes to actual reproduction, a Sidh must complete advanced medical science studies and become a certified progenitor to fully understand how to grow, condition and augment the new Sidh generation. Sex doesn't come into the picture anywhere here besides the extraction of sex cells from citizens selected as fit for eugenics program.

Sex is a taboo subject in the Theocracy of Theatrical Theists, so there is no sexual education in any form. Usually, the priest who performs the marriage gives the newlyweds a few clues as to what is expected of them -- after he performs the wedding, of course.

One moment

Education
Education in CTALNH is free up to the Academic level.Students are assigned books and need to bring it back at the end of the year in the same condition it was it when they received it. If they do not bring it back or it is in a worse condition than it was before, the parents will have to pay for a new book. The government also provided free busing to the school due to the fact many people do not have cars. Buses run on hydrogen. The Physical Education is a bit different than in other countries(It contains military training). For 24 times a week which means 24 hours a week each gym class preforms basic military training. They so push ups, curl ups, jumping jacks and many other things which are contained in basic military training.Sex Ed is also very different in CTALNH from other countries the boys are taught how to have sex with live training from special teachers at age 12 and at age 14 girls join in and teachers just lay back and score kids performance. Also each school has a qualified nurse who has worked in a hospital for 2 years. The school to ensures child safety and prevention of unwanted pregnancy and takes care the pent up pressure of the boys from time to time. Each student learns Greek, Russian and English. Although learning three languages is difficult teachers attempt to help students as much as possible and many stay after school voluntarily to help out students.

The schools are *supposed* to teach children about things like the reproductive system, STDs and contraception. Many schools don't *actually* teach them anything and those that do have to ask the kids' parents/guardians.
Please note: Central Lothian is the direct successor to Mid Lothian*. As a result, I am still called Rebecca, I am still a Grammar Nazi and most information pertaining to ML also applies to CL (although I will be taking this time to change a few things).
