Yannia's currency is the Stöyvër (symbol: $ or YAS), which is subdivided into 60 meytën (symbol m).

Coins exist of the values (copper plated steel, until 1983 bronze:) 1m, 2m, 3m, 4m, (cupronickel:) 5m, 6m, 10m, 12m, (nordic gold:) 15m, 20m, 24m, 30m, (bimetal:) 1$, 2$, 3$ and 4$.
Notes exist of the values 5$, 6$, 10$, 12$, 15$, 20$, 24$, 30$, 60$, 120$, 240$, and 480$.

All coins and notes bear their value in traditional Yannian numbering on one side and in Arabic numerals on the other.

Before 1966, each member state of the Yannian Confederation used their own currency.

Yannia's nation page contains an error. The population should be in millions, not in billions.

In the native language, it is called hŷxr, or more commonly, óce. You know it as "catnip". It is not actually a currency, but it is the most important thing in the world. :D

National currency? It's called the "Azunyan". It's a cute little catlike creature that functions as standard currency. As to whether it should be given its own rights nor not, considering how adorable so many people find it, remains debatable.

The richer folk in the Matriarchy will tell you though, that their wealth doesn't stem from a capitalist urge of sorts, but from addiction to the little things, who don't really make sounds but will meow every now and then. Specialized pouches are sold for keeping a personal reserve of Azunyans for personal consumption, say shopping or eating since obviously a normal wallet or coin purse won't hold them.

The Tsenyen (Z)

In Radiatian "Tsenyen" means "Hundred" so when you say "I want a hundred tsenyens" technically you are saying "I want a hundred hundreds."

Currency in Azania

Postby Azania » Wed Jan 25, 2012 9:19 am

Azania has no currency: we're an anarchist communist society. Economic production and distribution is "from each according to ability, to each according to need", with 'need' defined not in terms of what is needed for bare survival, but rather as what is needed to maintain a decent standard of living.

It's called the Tehta (pl. Tehtar), which is made of 100 Tehtincí (sing. Tehtincë). In Quenya they mean "mark" and "little marks" respectively.
