Despite our extensive use of powered armor, we have not really branched into the realm of mechs. Our military only has one in its arsenal, subbed Project Charon:

It bears no crew of any kind, and it is entirely AI-operated (in fact, it is usually controlled by the Dictator himself, as he is potentially the most advanced AI in existence in our universe). It is equipped with fairly thick armor made from layered steel plates laminated with diamond, producing a material that is exceptionally durable against both ballistic and energy weapons, in addition to an energy shield capable of stopping anything that could be fired by infantry and slowing down projectiles from aircraft and tanks. It is powered by an advanced fusion reactor that is fed water, and produces power by first separating the water into oxygen and hydrogen and then fusing the hydrogen into helium, releasing oxygen and helium as by-products.
In terms of weaponry, it is equipped with a modular weapons system allowing for relatively easy replacement of weapons, allowing its loadout to be tooled for a particular mission. Common weapons include high-energy lasers, plasma throwers, railguns, and sometimes more conventional arms like cannons, missiles, or machine guns.

We used to have another mech called Project Thanatos:

This one was far more advanced and practical. Its spherical shape was easier to armor, and instead of steel, it was equipped with neutronium, an incredibly durable artificial element similar in nature to neutron stars, although far less dense. It was also equipped with a modular arsenal, though it traded quantity of weaponry for heavier weapons. In other respects, it was fairly similar to the earlier Project Charon.
However, this was destroyed in combat, and a replacement has not been built.
