The Kingdom of Bennor

The land of Bennor was founded some three thousand years ago, when the tribes of Benik and Norr formed the kingdom Bennor. Over the next thousand years, the kingdom held some one hundred thousand souls and stretching across the continental seaboard. Then two thousand years ago, an evil rose in the east, and had a name so foul none speak it today. The evil seduced goblins, ogres, and even humans and orcs under it's hypnotic spells. It waged war on the peoples of Bennor, Tare, and the Orcish tribes, devastating their lands and cities. Then, one last alliance of humans, tareans, and orcs pushed back the forces of this evil and launch one last attack on the evil's lands of Loorkour. Victory was nearly at hand, but the evil took the form of a dark knight, carrying with it a massive warhammer of great power, capable of casting great spells and killing a great many with one blow by it's master. Then Sigmar, king of Bennor, went with nine knight-wiards known as the Paragons to face the evil in open battle. After blows of physical and magical wounding both sides, Sigmar raised his great sword of star rock and smited the evil where it stood. But the Paragons still sensed his presence, and used their magical energy to flood the valley of Loorkour, creating a massive bay surrounded by plains and wastes. The sword, known as the Blade of Sigmar, was also possessed at contact with the evil, and tossed into the bay. The Lake of Loorkour still remained an evil and desolate place, until some years later, when Roakai, one of the Paragons, discovered the evil, and allowed it to possess him.
This is when the Western Orcs chose to leave Castar forever, venturing to the Pool of Norga, somewhere in the great oceans. The Pool was seen by a Paragon in a vision, and was to send the Orcs to their rightful home. Half-Orc, Half-Tareans known as Kuracs remained as the beastmasters of the wilderness, seldom seen and heard of, to then pass into legend.
The Tareans were left with shattered kingdoms, and within a few years the remaining mountain-kingdoms fell into anarchy, and only a few survivors made it to refuge in Bennor. Today their great mountain-cities are empty, but some say the Tareans also awoke a great monster under the mountains, hence their downfall.
The men of Bennor were also left with a bloodied nation, and for the last two thousand years have lived in a shadow of their former selves, only a sparse fifteen thousand remain in what used to be the central province of the once mighty Empire of Bennor.
Roakai ventured out of the great city of Odris-Corvatta into the Northern Wilds four hundred years ago, where he created an army of possessed goblins known as warlings. He used thousands of them to wage his war on Bennor three hundred years ago, combined with ogres and the evil pirates of Akamorr. However, Roakai has been gathering his armies in secret, men, ogres, warlings, even full bred goblins were raised and called upon. He was to assault Castor, all were targets of his hordes. All would fall under the banner of Roakai. Only one nation saw the evil and stood in it's way, the old but smaller kingdom of Bennor. If Bennor could be conquered before the others could respond, then the rest of Castar would fall. If Bennor withstood the onslaught, then the nations would have proper time to mobilize their armies against Roakai, if they accepted him as an enemy.
Currently, Bennor exists in a state of war that has lasted for the last three hundred years. Though they are ravaged they still remain an obstacle in Roakai's way and a force to be reckoned with, though are still renowned for their vast merchant fleet that sends travellers all over Ceaden.
