Capital punishment is only used in cases or murder (or attempted murder).

The usual method is a gunshot to the neck.

The exception is if the person has done something particularly malicious and cold-blooded. Treason against the Monarchy. Trying to kill the Prime Minister. Serial killer who goes after children and has partaken in a lot of bloodshed.

This results in a punishment worse than death which proceeds as follows:

1. Their limbs are cut off.
2. Their vocal cords are slashed.
3. They are blinded.
4. They are used for military testing until they die.

In ancient times, criminals that were condemned to death were beheaded at the hands of the local dukes, princes, earls, and what not. If the crime was not considered serious enough for beheading, the other option was to drink the "Elixir of Emptiness."
