Capital punishment is only used in cases or murder (or attempted murder).

The usual method is a gunshot to the neck.

The exception is if the person has done something particularly malicious and cold-blooded. Treason against the Monarchy. Trying to kill the Prime Minister. Serial killer who goes after children and has partaken in a lot of bloodshed.

This results in a punishment worse than death which proceeds as follows:

1. Their limbs are cut off.
2. Their vocal cords are slashed.
3. They are blinded.
4. They are used for military testing until they die.

In ancient times, criminals that were condemned to death were beheaded at the hands of the local dukes, princes, earls, and what not. If the crime was not considered serious enough for beheading, the other option was to drink the "Elixir of Emptiness." This drink made from herbs found deep in Oswaldia's forests would put the consumer to sleep for up to two days if mixed right. The body would be put on a makeshift boat and set to sail into the emptiness of the vast ocean. If they found new lands, perhaps they could live on if it was the will of the Gods. This practice continued after St. Oswald brought Christianity to the island nation, but was eventually phased out for firing squads during the era of gunpowder.

Today firing squads are used for the most awful crimes. However, one has to do a terrible amount of crime in order to get the death penalty. The Grand Duke has found that chain gangs work well for a number of criminals and that ten hour work days are more than enough punishment for the worst our Grand Duchy has unfortunately produced. I mean, it took me ten minutes to get here on this beautiful new highway!

That depends on the crime.
For some crimes, they are just killed, for others they are tortured. Some are public, some private. Some involve 'audience participation'.
Either way, we have a draw from a hat to decide.

In Virachia, the death sentence is rarely used, except for cases of murder (attempted and/or successful). Lethal injection is the most common, as the victim usually dies instantly without any pain, but for mass murderers, serial killers, murderers of children, or attempted murderers of the royal family, a poison elixir is usually drank, which causes the victim to feel much pain and sometimes causes a lethal stroke, ending in death. Sometimes, rapists receive the death penalty also, especially serial rapists or rapists of children.

In China, criminals are killed by the victims or the victim's families, and the victim or their families may choose how the criminals die, so long as it does not take longer than 30 minutes. Some choose to be sadistic, while others quick. It all depends really on the crime and who committed it, as well as the family. Those are for high-class breakings of the law. Treason is the only punishment in which the government itself executes the prisoner, which is designed to torture, break, then slowly and painfully kill them.

In the Most Holy and Grand Empire of Christian Democrats, there is no death penalty. Life imprisonment without the possibility of parole is the severest sentence that a criminal can receive.

Firing Squad for crimes such as rape, murder, treason, desertion, harming foreign diplomats/hosts, an outstanding number of lower felonies.
Really severe crimes or more significant ones will be a bullet to the back of the head or forehead on your knees, mostly used on POWs though.

The death sentece is only used for "non-releasable" people that cannot be relased back into society. Most are put into life-prison facilities, but some face the death penalty. Capital punishment is carried out by leathal injection.

Examples of life-prison crimes:
Second degree murder
Rape
Treason
Use/Selling of illegal drugs (on large scale)
Prisoner of war
(list goes on, but these are all i can think of for now)

Examples of Death Penalty Crimes:
First Degree murder
Serial Killing
Treason (on large scale)
Terrorism
(again, list goes on)

ALL major crimes are answered with Firing squads, we hold no mercy for enemies of our Empire's Peace and Prosperity. We have no criminal rehabilitation centers or prisons, Minor crimes are with fines or in some cases beatings by Military Officers. Firing squads are full squads of 22 Infantry and 1 commissar. In the cases of war criminals whole regiments may get the chance to shoot at the man to be punished.

All executions are carried out by the Queen herself. The criminal is sat on their knees, hands bound behind them, and they are decapitated. The Queen always uses the same ceremonial sabre to conduct every execution, and it will be passed down to the Princess when she assumes her post as the future Queen.

Lethal Injection, although decapitation is also a possible form of capital punishment.

As of 1994 the Death Scentance is not carried out in Raloyzia. Until then the only legal method of execution was by firing squad.

Depends on the severity of their crime; we usually just put criminals in threapy. However, some criminals are killed via death by llama stampede; painful and long lasting.

Criminals condemned to death will be sent to 'Death Prisons', similar to death row.
There are 7 throughout High Nalograd.
The difference is the convicts are not fed, only given water. Every Friday, these prisons will be emptied of all their inmates. The convicts will be herded into a nearby field, lined up into rows of 10. 10 Soldiers will then systematically shoot each row.

Afterwards, the next batch of criminals will arrive. And their first duty will be to burn the previous inmates.
The upkeep of these prisons is billed to the convicts' families. All assets the convict may have had prior to his sentence will also go toward paying for the prisons.
