Geography
Currently located in the famed "Land of kings and Emperors" despite being a republic, it is in fact believed to have drifted over from the North Pacific many hundreds of millions ago. Whatever the conditions where then, it is fair to say that the change in climate couldn't be more different from that of today. It is in fact located in the desert which stretches across the borders of this fairly small nation. It's one feature making it habitable is the coastline to the south of the nation which is the source of the famous "MIN (Mass Irrigation Network)" which in these modern times now takes the sea water to the many desalination plants located across the country. The MIN has also allowed several large areas of the desert to be converted over the centuries to arable farming land. The terrain of the country is largely flat however in the north east of the country, sand dunes stretching as high as 2km high render these impassible from the ground and even helicopter travel is risky and requires extremely careful navigation. It is also important to note that all areas of the country are at major risk from sand storms, including the capital. Other major cities include; Paradise, Salvation, Defender's Point and Corporate Graveyard.

Economy
Following the People's Revolution, all private enterprises in Jamajar have been nationalised, meaning the public sector provides all manufacturing jobs that are available in the country. The high spending on law and order has seen Jamjar's small economy struggle in recent years, despite the pledge of the ruling party to initiate a boom within the economy. The GDP is unknown, however rumours estimate it to be at as little as $10,000,000,000 however with over 50% being spent on law and order, there is little scope for any political protests. It is estimated that over 50% of the population of Jamjar live below the poverty line, with the figure set to continue rising as the automobile industry hits difficulties. Inflation is currently at 20% and the income tax rates are currently set at 47% for the poorest in society, however it is even higher for the wealthier sections of society. The 3 main industries in Jamajar are currently armaments manufacture, agriculture (due to the excess food that many of the population can no longer afford) and automobile manufacture (under severe threat from foreign imports). The lack of natural resources in Jamajar means that all electricity, gas and oil must be imported from neighbouring countries. It has been viewed by the WA, even pre-revolution, that Jamajar is a country desperately in need of foreign aid, however the government has so far rejected all offers, dismissing them as corporate propaganda.

History
For hundreds of years, Jamajar was a Kingdom, and seemed to align with it's neighbours, however evidence suggests that the desert prevented communication with it's fellow kingdoms and empires until recent years. The climate also meant that only one city was able to exist within the nation, called Stenak which today is named Little Heaven and is also the capital. However, around 700 years ago the nation was gripped by the Agricultural revolution brought on by what is today considered a wonder, the MIN. The Mass Irrigation Network was so far ahead of it's time, and allowed to vast tracts of land to be slowly converted to farm land which lead to a boom of new towns and cities being founded across the land, all supplied by water from the ever expanding network. This certainly was the peak of the nations economy and the economy continued to grow until the middle of the 20th century. However as the 20th century went on, the private corporations grew to become an integral part of the nation's economy, and dissent at this situation grew. Then the great crash came as these companies with a monopoly on their respective markets ran up massive debts and King James XXX authorised the bailout. This was the final straw and so the army, led by General Steven Palmer, had his soldiers march into the Beachside Palace and depose the King, who was then taken to a high security prison where he remains to this day, given the same treatment as the other criminals incarcerated who include murderers and rapists. Since then many sweeping reforms have taken place aswell as a new parliamentary system being put in place and Palmer himself being appointed as High Defender of the State, coinciding with the nationalisation of all private businesses, the name changes of all major cities and a new focus being placed on law and order.

Military
The defence budget of Jamajar is surprisingly low with most of the being spent on the Land Defence Force (LDF) with only small grants given to fund the Sea Defence Force (SDF) and the Air Defence Force (ADF). There is a manpower currently of 100,000 with 20% of these serving as part of their national servivce. It is expected that there is available man power of around 2 million and everyone of military age and fit to serve is automatically registered as a reserve and can be called up anytime when needed. The defence budget is around 10% of the GDP.

Government
The Armed Republic of Jamjar officially labels itself as a Single Party Democracy, however it is important to note that the WA offically considers the government a "Corrupt Dictatorship." It celebrates Victory Day, it's national holiday on the 4th January of every year as this is the date the coup successfully took place in 2001. The Parliament is where any new bills are debated, with a majority of yes votes needed for the bills to go through, however any executive decisions can be taken immideiately by the High Defender of the State and he can immediately call for elections at any time, however unlikely this may be. The constitution states that the HDS is appointed for life, and upon the death of the HDS, the party then convenes to elect a new leader. Attendance is mandatory to all party members. The HDS also assigns which party members shall run the council of each of the major cities, excluding Little Heaven, which is directly run by central government. Up until now, the foreign policy has been strictly isolationist, but now Little Heaven has had a special Embassy district constructed in the upmarket area where ambassadors are welcome, however heavy restrictions are still in place, in which more details can be found on the embassy website.
